Crafted by master luthiers in Breedlove's custom shop exclusively for us.
Breedlove S-Series instruments are custom guitars for players seeking a more subdued aesthetic while retaining all of the rich tone, smooth playability, and superior craftsmanship of a handmade Breedlove. These exclusive editions, the SC25 and SD25, both come with a choice solid Sitka spruce top, the L.R. Baggs Active Element pickup system, an exclusive custom fingerboard inlay, body binding with top and back purfling, an abalone rosette, 25-1/2" scale length, and an ebony bridge, fingerboard, and peghead overlay, as well as a deluxe Breedlove S-Series hardshell case.
The SD25 features the powerful and traditional dreadnought-style body shape as interpreted by the master luthiers at Breedlove. The slightly rounded corners and soft cutaway give the SD25 a smooth profile and an open, direct, balanced sound that still has the classic dreadnought volume and bass response. The back and sides of this SD25 are made from a custom figured mahogany, selected by Breedlove especially for this exclusive S-Series instrument, offset by tortoise binding.
Solid Sitka spruce top
Sitka spruce has become an industry standard for high quality tonewood. It is a very versatile top that works well for all styles of playing. The fact that it is presently so abundant has left it under-appreciated, but it is one of the all-time best tonewoods. The color is fairly light when new and takes on a more golden, aged hue over time.
Solid mahogany back and sides
In addition to producing the classic centered and woody tone of a quality-crafted mahogany body, the Breedlove design adds brightness and richness. This combination makes it a great choice for all players, providing guitarists with a complete sonic spectrum that can be sculpted to meet any desire. This is the traditional mahogany wood, taken from select harvests in Central America.
L.R. Baggs Active Element System
The L.R. Baggs Element delivers performance previously unattainable from an undersaddle pickup. The streamlined and efficient design removes every unnecessary internal component to improve the coupling between the transducer and the guitar. This substantially improves the sensitivity of the transducer for a robust, lively, and open sound with great dynamics and a delicate high end.
The Element Active System pairs the Element undersaddle transducer with a pre-contoured all-discrete class A endpin preamp and includes a small, removable soundhole-mounted volume control for added convenience and versatility. The entire system is designed to install easily and features plug-and-play performance. Also included is the Battery Bagg for secure battery storage.

This is a great flatpicking guitar. The combination of sitka spruce and mahogany lets you really dig in. It sounds great unplugged but really blooms when it is played through an acoustic amp. I send mine through a Roland ac 60 and send the sub out to my bass amp with the tweeter at about 2/3. What a sound. People are blown away. Much better value than the big name brands. The tone woods are stunningly beautiful. Help, I can't put it down. g
This guitar is extremely well made, and has the deepest sound I've ever heard from any instrument. The SD25 is a custom shop guitar for a standard run price. I looked and played a lot of high end instruments from the big names, and this guitar outclasses and outplays all of them. The set-up is perfect right out of the box, the woods are gorgeous, and the tone is perfectly balanced. I don't think this one will ever leave my collection.
Warmest sounding guitar I've ever heard in my life.
