OVERVIEW

An all-solid-wood guitar with a distinctive figured appearance and Spanish pedigree.

The D11 is the top of Cordoba's new Acero line, a line of all-solid steel strings approached from a classical or Spanish guitar building perspective. Most notably, Cordoba is using an integrated neck joint or Spanish Heel instead of a traditional dovetail joint to join the body and neck of the guitar. This method of construction offers a lighter weight and more stable heel joint that increases resonance and is less prone to movement as the guitar ages. The bracing pattern is a hybrid of a Torres-style Spanish fan pattern and X-bracing, and allows the top to move freely with an explosive attack and rich resonant tone.

The D11 dreadnought features all solid acacia for the back and sides which give it a clear, bright tone, and distinctive figured appearance. The D11 also features a solid Sitka spruce top along with a beautiful ebony fingerboard and rosewood bridge and binding. The styling is refined and sleek, using Acacia wood on the double ring rosette and 12th fret fingerboard inlays, capped off with Cordobas signature elevated headstock with a rosewood strip and mother-of-pearl inlay. The finish is a thinly applied high-gloss nitrocellulose lacquer. Other features include a TUSQ nut and saddle, gold Grover tuners, Elixir NANOWEB Light Gauge (.012-.053) strings, and a Cordoba deluxe archtop wood case with built-in HumiCase humidification.

Comments about Cordoba Acero D11 Acoustic Guitar:

The Guitar is very professional built to every detail. Acoustic sound is beautiful and fill the whole spectrum. Action is so perfect and excellent for lead/solo or finger picking - the Nutwidth is the largest nut in market and help a lot in finger picking

Comments about Cordoba Acero D11 Acoustic Guitar:

Got this at STOTD, looks like it's on sale again for that price. I brought mine to a local luthier for full fret dress and setup. Even with that added expense, this guitar is a steal. Plays like a dream and sounds really big and open to my ears. I like it so much I also bought a D10CE. They sound completely different from each other, but I like both for different reasons.
You cannot go wrong at this price, especially with MF return policy. If I didn't think it would result in me sleeping alone for the next five years, I'd buy another one today. I'm a recreational player in my 40's, and with the big-ish neck I can play this guitar literally for hours without getting tired. I can't do that with my electric guitars, or my former acoustics. I also really enjoy the fact that nearly all of the cosmetic appointments are wood, and that there are no fingerboard dots.

Comments about Cordoba Acero D11 Acoustic Guitar:

The discontinued "Acero" line up will afford players the deal of the century at SDOTD pricing. Resale might suffer with no neck reset capability, but so what. This guitar sounds/plays with sparkling string definition and has a well balanced tone, wrapped in a top notch humidified case. Its not a cannon, but responds to a light touch perfect for finger-styled playing and especially handy is the 1.8 nut width. I have a 2006 Taylor 214 all solid[keeper], a Yamaha FG740sfm with Colosi bone saddle and now the D11.[keeper].

I'd recommend buying one of each [D9, D10, D11] at sdotd. Just be mindful of 1.8 nut.
