OVERVIEW

Handmade tradition, using some of the finest tonewoods in the world.

One of the original models in Cordoba’s Luthier series, the Cordoba C9 is built with solid European spruce top with solid mahogany back and sides. The C9 features a fan bracing pattern, which gives the center of the soundboard more surface area to vibrate and respond to the tension of the strings. A more responsive soundboard makes the guitar louder, and provides better tone. The C9 is the perfect choice for the serious classical guitarist, or for any player looking to upgrade to a concert-level instrument at an affordable price.

Like every guitar in the Luthier series, the C9 is built with Spanish heel construction, where the top of the guitar is attached to the neck, the sides are added next, and the guitar’s body is sealed by the installation of the back. This construction feature allows the entire instrument to vibrate as one unified piece. The C9 has the neck shape and flat fingerboard characteristic of traditional classical guitars, and includes the added benefit of a two-way truss rod built into the neck. Cordoba recently expanded upon the C9, offering two new options that appeal to guitarists from all backgrounds: the C9 Parlor, which has a 7/8 size body shape and 50mm nut width, and the C9 Crossover, which is a full size guitar with a slim neck profile, radiused fingerboard, and 48mm nut width.

Aesthetic touches like the mother-of-pearl weave rosette inspired by a 1920’s Domingo Esteso guitar add a touch of vintage elegance to this best-seller. Other premium features include an rosewood fingerboard, rosewood bridge, high gloss finish, and Savarez Cristal Corum strings. The C9 includes Cordoba’s lightweight polyfoam case.

Comments about Cordoba C9 SP/MH Acoustic Nylon String Classical Guitar:

        Plays fair, looks beautiful.
I was hoping it had more volume.
I had 2 sloppy tuner keys that had play in them and so I sent it back. I could not exchange for another C9 because Cordoba stopped making them is what I was told and so I am exchanging for a Kremona Rhondo.
Musician's Friend is one awesome place to shop and the people there are tops!

Comments about Cordoba C9 SP/MH Acoustic Nylon String Classical Guitar:

        • The Cordoba C9 SP/MH Acoustic Nylon String Classical Guitar Natural is a beautiful and responsive classical guitar. It action is good in comparison to other classical guitars. It plays well on both the bass and tremble strings of the guitar. The fret board is made out of Ebony which is pretty standard among most classical guitars. The European spruce top and mahogany back and sides creates an outstanding mellow sound with a natural corresponding tonal quality.

        Fantastic!

Comments about Cordoba C9 SP/MH Acoustic Nylon String Classical Guitar:

I've been playing the classical guitar for quite some time now and have played and owned many different guitars. Don't let the price tag of this guitar deceive you into thinking that this is a budget model. It may be considered "budget" as far as its price point, but the sound is very big and refined. It has great projection without sacrificing tone. The highs are not as warm as the higher end cordoba models, but this guitar is very well balanced in its sound from the low to the high E. Another aspect of this guitar that is very noteworthy is that it has a booming bass that you would typically find in spanish made guitars. Wow! Thats the first thing you notice when off the bat when you pick this thing up. This can most certainly be used as a concert guitar. I am dead serious!
