OVERVIEW

A versatile hybrid Grand Auditiorium with generous cutaway and slim neck profile to make it more fun to play.

The Grand Auditorium (SG-200), brand new for 201, comes with a spruce top and rosewood back and side, offering you, the player, vivid depth. Finger-picking produces soft warmth, while hard strumming busts the sound open without sacrificing clarity. The Gramercy' slim, C-shape neck brings comfort and balance. As with all Dâ„¢Angelico acoustic instruments, the Gramercy comes equipped with the Fishman INK-4 onboard preamp and pickup system, complete with its sleek built-in tuner. A truly dynamic instrument in its playability, the Gramercy can serve the mellow finger-style player, the frenetic rocker, and any player in between.

I had initially wanted the D'Angeligo Bowery but MF took it off sale. I looked at both the Mercer and Gramercy and decided on the Gramercy because I love the sound of rosewood. I ordered on a Saturday and the guitar arrived in perfect condition on Wednesday. The guitar was 100% set up and was ready to play after a quick tuning. The playability is amazing as is the overall quality of materials and construction. The tone is bright and the sustain is great, The only con I could find was with the tuner button. It turned on fine but I couldn't get it to turn off manually. It turns off at 3 minutes automatically though. I read the instructions and Fishman says that you simply push it once to turn it off. This did not work. I called MF and as usual, they are awesome and sent an email with return label. While I was on the phone with MF customer service I pushed the button super hard and the tuner turned off. After that it required normal pressure and I told the lady to cancel the return. Overall it's a great guitar, the case is great as well and I'm glad I own it.k

Fully misrepresented, Indonesian made, not Korean. Poor fitting and assembly. Plastic nut and bridge, not bone. Nothing like description except the electronics. Those were exceptional.

Comments about D'Angelico Gramercy Sitka Grand Auditorium Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This might be the nicest guitar that I have ever played. It is incredibly good looking, solidly built, really easy on the fingers and sounds fantastic. I sent it out for a professional set up as soon as I got it, which it needed, but was well worth every penny. As amazing as it is unplugged the sound is unreal when played through an acoustic amp.

Just pure quality. Excellent craftmanship. Easy to play and sounds fantastic. I almost bought another one but I don't need any more guitars. Beautiful rich sound. Beautiful guitar. Almost makes me want wrap it in bubble wrap when I take it out of the case for fear of knocking it into something. Really nice guitar.

Comments about D'Angelico Gramercy Sitka Grand Auditorium Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This is a truly beautiful guitar. Nice grain, finish and binding, looks like a much more expensive guitar. Only a slight neck adjustment was required during professional set-up. Action is lower now and very playable. Luthier remarked, "this guitar really growls!". It does sound great, both plugged and unplugged. The hard shell case is extraordinary- an exact fit for the guitar with plush lining and 5 latches. I got this on a Stupid Deal of the Day, but it is worth a lot more than I paid for it.

Comments about D'Angelico Gramercy Sitka Grand Auditorium Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This guitar is stunningly beautiful. The headstock, neck inlays and beautiful wood is just the frosting on the cake. The guitar sounds beautiful. It can be sweet or raunchy. It is easy to play and was perfect out of the box. I replaced the metal bridge pins with Tusq and it got even louder and more mellow. I love it.

Most acoustic electrics have endpin jack as part of the end pin. This makes strap attachment difficult. This guitar solves it.. beautiful solution.

Comments about D'Angelico Gramercy Sitka Grand Auditorium Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I really want to like this guitar.... out of the box, it comes with a first quality / five latch hardshell case. so far so good. the guitar itself is absolutely visually beautiful.... one of the best looking guitars i've ever seen. action was high, truss rod adjustment, no big deal. here's where the trouble starts.... the guitar just doesn't sound as good as i would expect from a solid top / back / sides guitar. the tone is tight. the bottoms are middling. i will be the first to admit that i am a spoiled brat; my two main acoustics are a martin d-28 and taylor 314ce. i got this d'angelico on the stupid deal of the day.... at the discount price i plan to keep it, but at the list price i would have returned it. this guitar doesn't in any way hold a candle to the taylor or the martin.... and considering the price point i wouldn't expect to. i changed the strings from the d'addarios it shipped with to elixirs and it helped. i'm hoping that the tone woods will loosen up after playing the d'angelico after a while. again, the looks on this guitar are simply gorgeous. the binding, the tuners, every little detail and appointment making for a real beauty.
