Bringing back a great ride with lots of style.

Originally designed with elegance in mind, the Dean Cadillac Select Electric Guitar has only improved with age. It's offered with its original 1980 specifications including the select mahogany body and neck. Other appointmets include: multi-ply binding, rosewood fingerboard, block inlays and gold hardware. In addition, the new Cadillac is now available with a carved, highly figured flame or quilted maple top.

Like the Dean ML, the Caddy has appeared both onstage and in videos of many top artists over the past two decades. The Cadillac's biggest moment might have been the night it appeared on stage as the Dean endorsee walked away with five Grammy Awards.

Check the drop-down menu to the right to select colors and/or other options.

Waited long enough for this great guitar

    By Rick Fontanes

    from Florida

Comments about Dean Cadillac Select Electric Guitar:

I waited 30 odd years to finally get this guitar.I have wanted this guitar since I first saw Ric Ocasek playing it in the late 70's. I guess one would say in time I settled. That has been blown out of my vocabulary. This is what you want if normal is not your calling. This guitar can play anything you choose to. But, if the body shape throws you off, remember the sound & price are more important than the look. Those of us who have families, mortgages, bills. will remember how it felt to play that one elusive tone monster with the college loan crippling price tag.Try to find one, if you can. Better yet, order it sight unseen, test it out. you will not send this one back. I got the Tiger Stripe, though the Cherry burst is just as good. Remember this is mahogany with a maple cap so it will do sweet yet it can do metal too.
I have always wanted this guitar. It is the best of all great guitars, Les Paul-Bluesbird mahogany/maple body. set neck... possibly a longer tennen then the afore mentioned. Different shape then the cookie cutter normal shapes we so identify as rock guitars. This thing grinds, mellows out, hell it does it all. VERY WELL. I did not turn this beastie up until I relized it was only at 5 about an hour into checkingit out. My other guitars are going to be lonly for a while .
The guitar showed up to my house. I looked it over the neck binding was cracked on either side near the head stock. Called Musicians Friend, Told them about it. We got it set up for return. They sent out a replacement within hours of the scan. A week later that Cadillac showed up. It was pristine & perfect. Played it, I was transported back to that point in life when I heard & played guitars with that sound, tone, magic,in their bodies & necks. I am so satisfied with this purchase.
Come on now. This is a no brainer... mid 400's, for the perfect sound-tone, feel. I have an acoustic that is 60 or so years old, a jazz box that I thought could not be bested. I was wrong this is the same thing only it has a whole lot of overhead. The pick-ups may be standard but they are tonally balanced, loud & just right for a start. They make my alnico v's wheeze on the same amps. I have to change the settings when this guitar gets plugged in.

    Great Quality, Looks, and Playability

Comments about Dean Cadillac Select Electric Guitar:

Owned mine a little over a month now. Cherryburst finish is perfect. Plays similar to a Paul. Great neck, frets and setup was "spot on" at delivery. Gigged with it about 3 times now. All tones are easy thru a Line 6. Everything from clean 50's rock and blues to 80's metal, sounds great. Just roll off tone knob on the bridge pup a little. Great value. Get one, and fall in love.

    Dean Cadillac Tiger Eye

    By IzzytheDog

    from Maine

Comments about Dean Cadillac Select Electric Guitar:

Just got this guitar today. Beautiful guitar, not a blemish. Weight seems just shy of a LP Studio so it's got some heft. With the body cutouts, a comfortable guitar overall. Action was freakishly low but plays well(and fast), up and down the neck. But I did find a 1st fret buzz. The neck seems to be totally straight so a slight tweak on the truss rod should clear up the buzz. The zebra pickups sound good and have a cool classic look but there's a pair of Seymour Duncan SH-8's slated for this guitar. Also, ordered a Gator Cobra gig bag and it fits perfect and didn't break the bank. This is my new go-to guitar and with the SH-8's, I'll have the coolest ax in town. Thanks Dean!

    Exceeded my expectations...

    By Believer-Ha_LT

Comments about Dean Cadillac Select Electric Guitar:

I bought a Dean Boca 12-string a few months ago, and was very pleased with the quality and ease of play. I also play an Epi Les Paul and Fender MIM Telecaster. I decided to take a chance on the Caddy because I wanted something a little different. I wasn't disappointed! My cherry burst is absolutely beautiful. The finish is flawless, the setup was very good right out of the box, and mine even came with D'Addario strings. The binding and quilted top make it look like a $1000-$2000 instrument. I like the pups, nice highs and good mid-range. Good blues/classic rock machine. By the way, the Tantrum 42.75" long "Skull" case fits it perfectly. Definitely a keeper. I highly recommend, and thanks to Dean!

    Great value

    By TELEmeLATER995

    from Anchorage, AK

Comments about Dean Cadillac Select Electric Guitar:

Love the cosmetics of this guitar, it easily looks like a guitar two to three times the price. It has a great neck--very fast, but the action was freakishly high out of the box, so had to spend a little money visiting my guitar tech. The pickups are not amazing by any stretch, I imagine a good set of seymour duncans would really bring out the potential of this guitar. Also, although the headstock looks cool it's a pain to find a case that'll fit it. Sadly, it sounds awful though my favorite amp (A fender frontman) so probably gonna have to invest in a marshall or peavey.

This Caddy is not too Shabby

    By Anonymous

    from Undisclosed

Comments about Dean Cadillac Select Electric Guitar:

I stumbled upon this guitar at a pawn shop. Priced at 275 bucks, I couldn't resist. For the price, this guitar is awesome. The neck pickup is a little muddy, that is my only complaint. It's light weight and the finish (cherry sunburst) on it is beautiful, definitely my favorite guitar in the collection in terms of looks. The toggle switch is in a good location, very easy to flip from neck to bridge in the middle of a song. With a proper set up, your fingers glide across the fretboard with ease. I definitely recommend this guitar

I have always been a big fan of Dean ever since I picked one up in the local music shop back in 79.I've played fro 30 yrs own a gibson Explorer owned a paul & a SG This Cadillac select plays as good as any of those guitars !!!! I dont know what those guys at Dean do but their guitar shred they really do! This guitar could probably use a burstbucker or a seymour but thats it! also the flame maple cherry is beautiful you have to see it in person great guitar from a veteran !!!!!

    Best Guitar Ever!

    By Willy Petro!

    from Racine, Wisconsin

Comments about Dean Cadillac Select Electric Guitar:

Well. I picked this guitar up at my local music store. It was the second guitar i picked up i originally went there to play some gibsons and ibanez. I tried a ibanez rg that was around 500$ this guitar put that to shame. The Dean Cadillac Select is one of the best looking, sounding and playing guitars i've owned. The only problem i've had with this guitar is wireing issues with the jack. I've had this happen with the last 3 deans i've owned so i didn't really expect much in that area. All in all this will be great for a veteran or even a begineer musician. Email me if you have questions.

Great Guitar for 1/4 the price

    By robbys

Comments about Dean Cadillac Select Electric Guitar:

I have owned plenty of Gibsons, this one is much better craftsmanship ect than my 4 year old Gibson Les Paul. It plays and feels great with alot of versatility. You have to actually see and play it to appreciate. I got the red tiger eye le when it was availible.
