An archtop with a single cutaway and a combination of piezo bridge pickup and humbuckers.
The Dean Colt Semi-Hollowbody Electric Guitar offers a classic look with some modern technology to create a guitar that exceeds expectations. It has a semi-hollow maple body with an arched maple top and f-holes for a timeless appearance. It's well-balanced and comfortable to play and has a relatively shallow body depth of 1-3/4". The set maple neck comes in a C shape with a rosewood fingerboard and pearl dot inlays. Chrome hardware includes Grover tuners and a tune-o-matic bridge with a piezo pickup. And that's where the sonic fun begins. In combination with DMT design humbuckers, the piezo pickup offers up a pleasing variety of electric and acoustic sounds. A 3-way toggle for the humbuckers and a mini pickup selector let's you mix the 2 worlds to taste.

Comments about Dean Colt Semi-Hollowbody Electric Guitar:
This guitar is a missing link between acoustic size and application and electric sounds. It's body size makes it feel "substantial" (more comfortable than a 335) but the neck feels as nice as a good Les Paul! I've used this on jazz single and trio dates as well as full band gigs. It's also a good guitar for acoustic music or leading worship since it has that nice Piezo. it's a good acoustic tone that's very usable.
The humbuckers are nicely voiced and scream with a little grit from the floor or an amp, but then warm up nicely for ballads and jazz standards.
The Piezo (which is easily switchable)adds great clarity and definition, even with heavy distortion and gives the Colt that extra voice I haven't found on other semi hollowbodies. It's not an out of phase "oink"- it's a whole other voice!
The Colt is a versatile, smooth playing, nicely balanced, great looking instrument- Dean has a winner with this one! Try it out. I don't think you will be disappointed!
