The Dean Exotica quilted ash cutaway acoustic-electric guitar has a grand auditorium body with beautiful quilted ash top, sides, and back. This is the most affordable Deam Exotica guitar ever and yet still features a built-in preamp with a 3-band EQ system and tuner, a spoked woodcut rosette, and rosewood headstock overlay with an abalone "Dean" inlay.

I got this guitar a while back, I normally play electric, but needed an acoustic for stage playing once in a while. I am a huge Dean fan, so when I saw this I pounced. It is a great looking, playing and sounding guitar, especially for the price, but I feel that was about all the Deans I own. It took me a while to adjust to playing acoustic again after years of just electric, but when I got the hang of it, the tones of this guitar shon well, it sounds great. Another note is that even though I normally play electric, I didnt find this acoustic too hard on my hands, even with medium strings.
The ONLY reason I wouldn't recommend this to a friend is because I want it all to myself. (Evil laugh)

I have owned a variety of acoustic guitars over the years and this is by far the best one I have ever owned. The sound is just what I was looking for. No dead frets or buzzing out of the box. The tuner took a minute for me to understand what I was looking at, but once I played with it for a minute or two I got it tuned right up. The only thing that I didn't like is the color. The black is awesome, but there is gold(ish) trim that really stands out. You can't really see it in the pictures and I did not expect to see it when I opened the box. So it was a little shocking at first. But it grew on me and adds a very unique look to it. The hardest part was finding a strap that compliments that look.
