I picked up this guitar in a local store a couple years ago. I played it up against some higher priced guitars, in the $2000+ range, and this guitar sounded better. I had to sell it a few months ago because I am unemployed. It made me litterally cry when I did. I want this guitar back. I would trade my kid for it back, if I had one.

I was pleased to find this guitar on sale through this site. I have had my eye on it for several months, but the normal price was a little more than I could really afford at the time. Having recently received the instrument, these are my initial impressions:Features - Everything I expected was there, plus the XLR jack and built-in tuner were a nice surprise. The finish is gorgeous, and even though this site showed pictures of the minor pick scratches, they must have been buffed out because this guitar looked PERFECT when I got it. I played it for several hours and it still looks shiny and great (aside from my own freshly added pick scratches). 5 Stars for getting more than I expected, especially at almost 1/2 the price.Quality - to this site, you get 4 start for quality only because the strings and 9V battery were absolutely DEAD. I put in a new set of D'Addario Phosphor Bronze 12/53's and a new Duracell and everything sounds great. The tuner works fine. These items really don't reflect on the guitar itself, but I'm offering 4 stars because they did need to be changed before the instrument could be considered playable. As a side note, I also added a set of Schaller lock buttons. Value - 5 out of 5 stars. Aside from my previous complaint, I still consider this a good deal, and most of us change out the stock strings pretty promptly anyway. Like I said, for almost 1/2 the price, this instrument was no disappointment at all. Overall - I would say if this guitar interests you as a student or gigging musician, I don't think you will be disappointed. It looks and plays great. If you are recording and looking for the "perfect" sound, then you'll probably be looking to spend a little more money. The model I bought used is fantastic, with the previously mentioned caveats. It meets my needs and expectations quite well. I'll give 4.5 stars because I had to replace the strings and battery.

I've had this guitar for a few days, after getting it on sale from a local retailer (sorry Musicians Friend, you know I love ya). What can I say about this guitar? It's a good solid performer. The finish is a bit lighter in person than in the photo but the spalted maple definitely catches your eye. This guitar is very easy to play and is excellent for fingerpicking. The first thing I did was replace the strings with medium gauge Elixir phosphor bronze and it sounds amazing. It has has a nice solid sound with pronounced treble and good low end. The electronics are nice but nothing fancy. The preamp's knobs can be set and then pushed into the unit to lock them into place. No worries about bumping them on stage, and catching heat from your sound engineer! This guitar has the standard 1/4" out as well as a balanced XLR that can be plugged directly into a snake or soundboard. Not having to carry around a direct box is a definite plus.
