This is an okay guitar. I would recommend this guitar to someone who is just looking for a decent affordable guitar. This guitar is INCREDIBLY light. The body and neck of the guitar resonate very well with each other. This Dean also has slight internal reverb. The tremolo does stay in tune fairly well. I can dive bomb it and it comes back to "zero" perfectly. I really like the neck on this guitar, it has a thin neck profile with a rosewood fretboard. The fretboard is very smooth and easy to play on.My main problem with this guitar is the pickups. The stock pickups in the guitar are sort of muddy, I recommend switching out the pickups. The guitar lacks sustain, the note usually just dies out after maybe 3 seconds.

I bought this electric about two years ago from, you guessed it, musiciansfriend.com. It was a decent guitar... at first, but then I noticed a slight crack on the end of the neck. I returned it and got another one, this one had a damged headstock, but I decided I was tired of waiting for another guitar and kept it. This one played alright for a couple of months. Since then, however, it has become slightly aggravating. About a year ago it started to buzz (All 6 strings) and the way it is set up, in order to turn the truss rod you have to take the strings off. The sound is decent, but if you aren't such a metal fan, DON'T BUY IT. If you like to play rock, funk, etc. you should probably find a good Yamaha, Epiphone, or Squier for a couple bucks more. Me? I'm going to sell this and buy an Ibanez Hollowbody. Hope this helps!

Comments about Dean Vendetta XMT Electric Guitar with Tremolo:
Out of box - guitar was not color pictured (natural satin)- this one is more dark cherry matte finish, can't see woodgrain, guitar had no scratches or dents, however plastic parts (pickup holders, etc)very thin with sloppy untrimmed edges, toggle switch very loose, low quality, often fails to connect to neck pickup, tone and volume pots (adjusters) very low quality - tone adjuster is noisy, action ok, but buzzed on 13th and lower frets EAD strings, many frets have sharp edges. All guitars need some adjustments right out of the box, but if you took this guitar to a shop to be fixed, would cost you at least 150.00 USD. I do my own adjustments (set up), so after about 8 hours (change strings, adjust truss rod, file frets, clean toggle switch and pots with contact cleaner, adjust bridge) this guitar is almost ready to play. Final assesment - if you want a cheaply built guitar as a hobby to fix up, you might like this - but if you are a beginner with little repair / maintenance knowledge, buy a better guitar, you will save yourself money and fustration

Comments about Dean Vendetta XMT Electric Guitar with Tremolo:
This is a very cool guitar for the price you pay. I bought it for my son who already has three others and he loves it. Needed to be adjusted when we got it and the only real complaint I have is the headstock had a very large chip knocked off the top when we got it. Looked through the packing and didn't find the chip-or I would have just glued it on. Must have been shipped that way. Besides that which I have yet to resolve I do like the guitar and would recommend it.

Comments about Dean Vendetta XMT Electric Guitar with Tremolo:
This guitar is far better than the price would imply! I bought it specifically for shred
practice since it was inexpensive and has a 24 fret neck. Out of the box the trem
was "flat down" and I had to remove one spring from the back and readjust the
anchor bracket. Once retuned and given time to settle in everything works great
and it stays in tune during hours of vigorous playing. I could find no workmanship
flaws on the guitar at all. The Dean quality control must be excellent or else I got
that one "cherry" from the production run! The body is slightly smaller than a Strat
and the neck is slightly thicker, wider, and flatter than my Strat. I've thrashed on it for
hours a day and I think it's the bomb! The looks are totally understated and the black
satin finish is pitch black and menacing. The guitar feels solid and I get some
unusual tones and resonance from it that my Strat doesn't do. I highly recommend
this instrument to any metal head on a budget! As an old pro myself I wouldn't
hesitate to rock it on stage. Plus, Musician's Friend did a price match for me that
lowered the tag even more! Delivery was swift and the unit was packed inside three
different boxes for shipping protection. Whadya got to lose? Order one today!

Comments about Dean Vendetta XMT Electric Guitar with Tremolo:
Bought this guitar just for the heck. I own top- end guitars(PRS, Gibson, Fender, Martin, etc.) and this little guitar is allright for the price.
When I unpacked it, she was in tune and the action was there. No fret buzz.
Plugged her in into my Mesa and she boogied.
Intonation is decent.
I will give it to my grandaughter when she is ready to learn how to play.
I would recommended it.

Comments about Dean Vendetta XMT Electric Guitar with Tremolo:
The Dean Vendetta XMT provides a LOT of guitar for very little money. It gives you a cross between a Strat and an SG. The natural wood finish is particularly nice and the 24 fret fingerboard is a huge bonus! If you aren't trying to impress someone with a popular brand name, this is a great guitar to have in your arsenal!

Great guitar for the price!!
4.5 stars. The guitar is a great deal, very lightweight and plays great after a minor set-up. Bought it for my son for christmas. Own another one and it plays great.
Good Buy!!
