Equipped with active pups that can also be used passively.
The EM-2 Custom Electric Guitar from Epiphone's Prophecy Collection has 2 responsive, high output EpiActive humbucker pickups. Unlike most other active pickups on the market, EpiActives can also be used in passive mode to provide a traditional output without the need for a battery.
The hard maple, satin finish neck is attached to the body using the recessed, All-Access design. Combined with the patented Swept-C cutaway, access to all 24 frets on its rosewood fingerboard is uninhibited for sweet playability high up the fretboard.
Lavish features on this guitar include a Floyd Rose Original double-locking tremolo, highly figured quilt maple top, pearl knobs, strap locks, Grover tuners, a bound fingerboard, unique blade fingerboard inlays, and a deep, rich midnight ebony finish.

The Epiphone EM-2 Prophecy Custom FX with Floyd Rose has EpiActive humbuckers providing you all the heavy tone you need. You can also make it get into passive mode if you don't have that many 9Vs. The Floyd Rose brings out all the deadly sound effects while the basswood body is commonly known for making the guitar lightweight. All these great features are there for one low price. If you don't like the looks of the guitar, you can always hit your local dealer for custom paint jobs. Grab it now!!!
I love this guitar. The pickups are amazing the Floyd rose is awesome though i blocked mine off. U can mess with the tone knobs to get really good acoustic sound or go for the full out metal sound.
I have had this gutar for about 8 months, overall its pretty decent with only a few problems. First off, the whammy bar broke and won't tighten anymore after using it for a week. Gibson Customer Service sent me another one, but it might happen again. Its a Floyd Rose Copy, not a German-made Floyd which are the best btw. The Floyd is floating but doesn't go very far down or up. Finally the part of this guitar I was most dissapointed by was the pickups. Epiphone seriously over-hyped these. They are active and I've never been a big fan of active pickups. They are very bassy, good for some metal, but not very versatile like better active pups such as EMGs. I replaced the Pickups with some Dimarzio D-Activators, I highly recommend them. Other than those issues, this guitar is flawless. I recommend it and also suggest getting new pickups.
I've had this guitar for a while now, and it rocks. I was pleased to learn that it does, in fact, have a floating tremolo. It's a weird one that's mounted above the body instead of having a cavity routed for it, probably to preserve tone. The pickups sound good, it stays in tune well, and having 24 easily accessible frets makes playing so easy! Get me my wallet!
This axe is just simply amazing. Really all to say about it. the pickups have the active and pasive operation with just a slight pull on the volume knob. It is very reasonable priced piece with very good quality. Especially when you factor in the Original Floyd Rose. Just look at the other guitars with the FL and you will see that.
Great guitar. it has unbelievable sustain and really good pickups. It's not that expensive so that's good and in general it's just a really nice guitar.
