OVERVIEW

A Les Paul Standard with f-holes and flame maple top.

The Les Paul Standard is one of the most famous and sought-after electric guitars in the world. And now, Epiphone has added a twist to this classic rocker by including a gorgeous flame maple top with dual "f" holes, and a partially hollowed-out body that gives the legendary Les Paul a fresh upscale look with a lighter, more resonant body. It's the perfect combination of Les Paul sound and Epiphone style. Plus, the LP Standard Florentine PRO features Epiphone acclaimed ProBucker humbucker pickups, both with coil-tapping for a "standard" in looks and performance.

AAA Flame Maple Top and Classic
The Epiphone Ltd Ed Les Paul Standard Florentine PRO features a mahogany body that is carved out with two traditional f-holes for a new look that combines the Les Paul profile with Epiphone's legendary archtops. The Les Paul Florentine PRO features a beautiful AAA flame maple veneer top that delivers the classic LP tone and sustain but with the hint of a semi-hollowbody guitar like a 335 or Sheraton. The body also features single-ply cream binding on the top for a beautiful vintage look.

Like all Epiphone Les Pauls-and unlike less costly designs-the Epiphone Les Paul Standard Florentine PRO features a 14-degree angled headstock that gives you more pressure at the nut for longer sustain with less tuning hang-ups caused by "string-tree" gadgets. The mahogany neck has a standard 24.75" scale with a 12" radius and features a 1960s SlimTaper "D" profile with a glued-in neck joint for lifelong stability. The "D" profile neck is easy to hold for hours of playing time. The smooth rosewood fingerboard comes with pearloid trapezoid inlays, 22 medium-jumbo frets, a 1.68" nut, and 1-ply cream binding.

Epiphone ProBucker Humbuckers with Coil-Tapping
The Ltd Ed Les Paul Florentine PRO now features ProBucker pickups for that one-of-a kind Les Paul sound. ProBucker pickups feature Alnico II magnets, the same magnets used in sought-after vintage PAF humbuckers. Alnico II magnets provide a rich, warm tone with a sparkling high end and a solid low end. And, like PAF-era humbuckers, Epiphone ProBucker pickups are incredibly responsive with a range of tones.

The Les Paul Standard Florentine PRO features a ProBucker-2 in the neck position and a ProBucker-3 in the bridge position. The ProBucker-3 is slightly overwound to provide balance with the neck pickup and a bit of edge for lead work. ProBuckers emulate the sound of original PAF pickups which were hand-wound with a few extra turns of wire. Both the neck and bridge pickups also feature coil-tapping which is easily activated by a push/pull volume control. Coil tapping allows players an infinite variety of pickups sounds from single-coil bark to full humbucker bite.

Epiphone ProBucker Power
Epiphone pickups are critically acclaimed for their vintage-perfect sound and superior workmanship. When winding its humbuckers, Epiphone utilizes a double vacuum waxing process that ensures quiet operation, free from microphonic hum. The pickup is first placed in the specialized wax vacuuming system before the cover is placed on the unit to ensure that the wax fully penetrates to the very center of the pickup and solidifies all parts. After the cover is placed on, it is again given a second vacuum wax bath until the unit is completely saturated with wax. Epiphone uses only the highest-quality parts for its pickups, such as ABS plastic bobbins, 1010 Cold Rolled Steel pole shoes and pole screws, Alnico magnets and the finest magnet wire available. A guitar with Epiphone ProBucker pickups is a guitar you can truly play for life.

Guaranteed PRO Hardware
Epiphone's Ltd Ed Les Paul Standard Florentine PRO features Epiphone's legendary rock-solid hardware including a LockTone Tune-o-matic fully adjustable bridge and a Stopbar tailpiece. And now, Epiphone's updated design auto locks the bridge and tailpiece in place with no tools needed for improved sustain. The Les Paul Standard Florentine PRO uses 1" diameter potentiometers for better "throw," longer life and reliable service. Epiphone's all-metal toggle switches use rugged spring-steel contacts to ensure years of reliable service and performance. And Epiphone's proprietary output jack features an improved contact shape and a heavy-duty spring steel to increase reliability. Tuning is easy fast, and intuitive with Epiphone new "Deluxe" machine heads with an 18:1 ratio to ensure tuning stability and long life.

Like every Epiphone, the new Ltd Ed Les Paul Standard Florentine PRO features Epiphone's Limited Lifetime Warranty backed by world famous 24/7/365 Gibson Customer Service.

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Standard Florentine PRO Hollowbody Electric Guitar:

I recently purchased this guitar not really knowing what to expect in terms of Indonesian workmanship and tone. I am very impressed 9have the honeyburst finish) and have found this guitar a beauty to behold and has great humbucker tone - smooth as silk but can muster up a lot of bite, as well. Sounds great with some overdrive. The coil tap is a nice feature and have used it on some songs with our worship team, but you have to crank up the volume a bit - understandable since you're only working off one pickup. The hollowbody and F-holes give it a classy look and less weight during a gig is a big plus. I wouldn't hesitate buying again knowing what I know now. Grab one while they last at this great price!

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Standard Florentine PRO Hollowbody Electric Guitar:

        The good, and bad.

First, I really like this guitar. It has a beautiful finish. It's almost orgasmic to look at. It's super light, and it has a beutifully bright sound on the bridge pick up. Incredible for certain songs where you might desire that kind of sound. The problem with this guitar, so far, is that at the very bottom of the neck, one of the frets is slightly sticking out and causing my 1st string to get caught if I hit it too hard. I just picked this guitar up the other day. So, I'm taking it back to have them either fix or replace it. Another problem I've noticed (as someone else commented on) is that the G string has been slipping a bit. I've yet to replace the strings however, so this might resolve the issue. One final comment, as others have said, is that the pickups are a bit weak. Don't get me wrong, in the bridge position this thing can get some sweet gain, and I can play some awesome pinch squeles; however, when I was playing with my band I noticed a significant reduction in the fullness in comparison to my full body epi les paul. I've also read online that 59 duncan pickups would be a great swap, and I plan on trying that at some point.

Again, I really like this guitar, but they are gonna either gonna fix that fret, or i'm going with PRS :)

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Standard Florentine PRO Hollowbody Electric Guitar:

Just wanted to update my first review. It was a great guitar in January and still is. One thing I have noticed: the volume pots come on a little quickly for me. They go from no sound to fairly loud instantly. You can,, of course, compensate for this with your amp. but it is a little irritating. The string slipping was cured completely by changing to the new (to me) D'Addario NY/XL strings. One more thing: the price dropped more than 15% making it even a better deal. This is your lucky day.

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Standard Florentine PRO Hollowbody Electric Guitar:

I am new to electric guitar, so I am not the one who knows all about electric guitars. I will say I am very glad I selected the Epiphone Les Paul Florentine as my first electric. The sound is great and the quality is great. The electric is a completely different animal than acoustic. With todays amps, the different sounds are endless. I would recommend this wonderful guitar to anyone.

Comments about Epiphone Les Paul Standard Florentine PRO Hollowbody Electric Guitar:

I have had an older version of this same guitar for ten years and is my go-to secret weapon. I can't say enough about mine. Like all Epiphones you have to find a good one. By that I mean play several and pick the one that feels the best. There's always a remarkable difference between them - more than any other guitar. I won't list all my other guitars, but a lot of people can't believe this is my favorite model. The only thing that greatly improved mine was switching out the pickups for Duncan 59s. This thing now sounds so hot that you can't put it down. I'm not kidding, this thing is a steal if you get a good one. Your $5000 guitars may come and go - if you are ever lucky enough to have them - but this one stays where you can grab it when that riff comes to you at all hours of the day. You can't go wrong quite simply if you follow my advice; most importantly to swap the first one for a second if it's not right. You'll know when you hit the jackpot like I did. BTW, that swapping them out goes for all Epiphone guitars. If you were to line up ten, one will be much better than the others. I know stuff after many years and lots of guitars. Good luck and practice, then practice some more.

Quality workmanship, beautiful honey-burst finish. Love the neck and ease of play. Light weight. Sound and tone are fantastic. For what I play - blues, jazz, fusion, this guitar fits the bill. This guitar would work for almost any style. Some folks complained about it not staying in tune. This is because, on mine anyway, the strings are not wrapped properly. Just install new strings correctly. Also- after the strings it comes with get stretched and broken in, it stays pretty well in tune. I have several electrics and this is the only one I will be playing for a while. I love this guitar!
