i opened the gibson-cardboardbox and opened the case, took the epiphone out and tuned it. the action is perfect and so seems the intonation. the tuners from grover are pro. the sound from the guitar blows me away.
the certficate of authenticity seems to be coming from a faulty chinese printer or copier. there are marks along the sides of the paper. i do not think that joe really signed these personally.
but i am delighted by having gotten an instrument with such sound qualities. it`s one of a thousand.
no. 343
cheesy kind of sparkle gold top finish. the brown case is even worse with a very plastic feel to it but the pink colour from the fluff interior beats it all...viva las vegas...the whole collection has not really met my taste but i give it 10 because i think it is extraordinary.
the craftmanship of the instrument seems excellent. just the plastic knobs were pushed on a bit off.
the neck is a nice slab and feels very chunky indeed. takes some getting used to even if one has played telecasters with u shaped necks. but what really makes this guitar outstanding is the quality of the pick-ups.
the value is great. a guitar with burstbuckers and built like the les paul series in the 1950`s, tenon and all. if one would give this next to an american custom shop model to an expert with his eyes closed, i believe he would have a hard time knowing which sound comes from which instrument. excellent.

I got one with a poorly set and milled neck.
No problem as customer service helped me with
the return in quick time. I will say that the tone wood was exceptional and the Burst Bucker pickups were tremendous. The Grovers were smooth and a really nice addition. A real value. Too bad for me I waited to buy until there were none left to replace it with so I am waiting for more stock.

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition Joe Bonamassa Les Paul Electric Guitar:
Epiphone has gotten a bad rap throughout the years for being "The Red-headed Stepchild" of Gibson. nothing could be further from the truth. This Epiphone Joe Bonamassa Les Paul may not be as "hot" as the Gibson model, but not all of us have the available big cash for the Gibson version. This one plays with ease, great chunk sounds abound. A really nice addition to my collection which includes Fenders and Gretsches. Good work Epiphone!

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition Joe Bonamassa Les Paul Electric Guitar:
I started my guitar collection again last year after many years of not even owning one guitar in the house.
The Bonamassa was one of the first I bought last year from MF as it was a signature guitar.
First up the guitar felt great and the tone with the Gibson Pickups was gorgeous with a blues touch or a gritty crunch when overdriven.
The fret work was impeccable and the larger neck for me was very very comfortable.
I gave the guitar to a luthier who slammed the action right down to the deck with no buzz present at all which showed off the quality of the fret work and replaced the stop tail with a Gotoh because it seemed a logical improvement even though I had no issues at all with the factory stop.
This guitar is a lifetime keeper now and is my benchmark for everything else I own or play.
I have bought and passed through several guitars this year including a Gibson Classic Custom,Gibson SG Standard and a Epi Ace Ferhley Custom.
The Epi Bona was still my go to guitar even with the above in the house and I think thats speaks volumes for how nice the Bona sounds and plays.
Its stays in tune no worse or better than any high quality Gibson and the nut was cut well and just needed a touch of lube.
The only other guitar that I play more than the Bona is a 2012 Gibson Les Paul Standard which after a touch of tweaking is just a killer guitar.
If you are thinking its only a Epi and not a Gibson..well you will be surprised like I was of how it does sound, play and the quality rosewood neck and the really nice bit of fretwork.
Equally better or as good as many Gibsons out there.
..it comes very highly recommended.

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition Joe Bonamassa Les Paul Electric Guitar:
I had this guitar set up professionally because the intonation was way off. Now, it sounds and plays outstanding. It looks beautiful. The tone is big, fat, and warm. I couldn't be happier. I run this through a tube screamer and into a Marshall class 5 all tube combo.

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition Joe Bonamassa Les Paul Electric Guitar:
Don't get me wrong, I really like the guitar. But I was fooled into thinking that only 1000 would be sold! I figured that if I did'nt like it, I could always sell it and it would hold some value. Now I'm not so sure, and I wish I had bought an American made Studio instead for just a little more money. The studio is much lighter and this think is a LEAD weight. Oh well, I hope Joe B gets a nice bit of the cost, because he is great and deserves it.

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition Joe Bonamassa Les Paul Electric Guitar:
I am not a professional player and I have never even been in a band. But I do have an excellent ear and this guitar sounds as great as it looks. I also own a custom PRS (my dumb brother sold it to me dirt cheap years ago) and this thing comes very close to matching the sound quality of that.
Unlike others, I think the action of the guitar needs a bit of tweeking--at least in terms of lowering the strings (perhaps because my PRS is so damn low). However, in terms of the "feel" and the thick neck, I absolutely love it despite having smaller hands. I have played similar Gibson Les Pauls and this feels right.
Given the great mix between sound, looks, and feel I am satisfied with my purchase and it is not going back. In fact, after 2 weeks of owing it, overall I like it better than my PRS.
I would recommend getting a thicker guitar strap for this. I paired mine with a Levy 3 inch black leather strap (M4GF) and it makes a huge difference to compensate for the heavier weight and it provides great stability for the heavier guitar.
Obviously this is not the "real" deal, and the quality is not equal to a Gibson. Given that, I rated it 4 stars (8/10) as perfection should be save for the best. However, in terms of price to perfomance it is five stars all the way.
+Great Pick Ups

+Very Solid Construction
+Nice Thick Lacquer +Authentic Felling Les Pau

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition Joe Bonamassa Les Paul Electric Guitar:
Its a buy. if you have a chance to buy one, buy it. it will be one of the best decisions you will make on buying a guitar.
This guitar is awesome. It plays like a beast and has so much sustain especially with the gibson burstbucker 2 and 3 loaded in it.
I love this guitar and when first recieved it i didnt think i even needed any adjustment or new strings, but will end up doing it anyways. The gold top glows and is nice.
I just love it and this is the closest you will probably end up getting to a gibson les paul.
Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition Joe Bonamassa Les Paul Electric Guitar:
I have NO regrets with this guitar Completely satisfied with the tone, looks and value. Plus is a limited edition, not bad for collecting it. It also comes with the signed certificate which is really cool! If you want a great quality guitar with GREAT tone varieties BUY THIS GUITAR before they sold out!
I also own a Gibson LP Traditional Pro and this Epi feels and plays ALMOST the same!! The neck is really thick, the tone is amazing and it stays in tune pretty well after BIG bends!
The Goldtop is stunning and the guitar looks amazing with the black accesories.
I am super happy with the guitar. It was worth it!
