Wow. This guitar is wonderful. The feel is pure quality and solidness. I am really convinced that (construction-wise) the better Epiphone guitars are just as good as their Gibson counterparts. I've had a Gibson Les Paul and this particular model blows it away. I love the graphics on this BB ("Backyard Babies") model. Not too silly and not too intense. This Les Paul is "just right." The Grover tuners and American Gibson pickups are icing on the cake.
Last year I won this Les Paul and also an Epi Dot (with the skull graphics) in an Epiphone contest. At that time I had the only set in the United States. These guitars were created for the European heavy metal band Backyard Babies. 30 sets of guitars were originally produced for the band and for promotional reasons. I have owned two Gibson Les Paul Customs in the past and this Epi Paul is just as good. It comes with Gibson pickups and Grover tuners. I highly recommend this guitar. One of my guitar students has the regular Epiphone Les Paul Custom and I have had the chance to compare his model with mine. The main difference is that the Gibson pickups are hotter and more resonent. I own about 20 guitars including Gibsons, Fenders, Epiphones, PRS and others and I have been playing for about 40 years.
I've gone through my share of guitars. This one is by far the nicest one I've seen and heard. Once income tax comes this baby is mine. I wanted to the standard custom but as soon as I seen this one I fell completely in love. Plus the pickups are a hella lot better than the standard custom Epi. If you have enough to by the custom, buy the limited edition one.
best guitar i ever had! pick ups sound great. sucha smooth feel. you won't regret buying this guitar!
If you want something a little different than the usual LP Standard or Custom look than this is it. I have a couple of Epi LP's and the first thing I do is change out the pickups with Gibsons. With this axe you don't have the trouble or the added cost, it's already done, how cool is that! This is a great deal!
