OVERVIEW

Stunning Les Paul looks matched with professional guitar appointments.

Epiphone's history and association with Les Paul dates way back to the days when Les, working at the Epiphone factory on 14th St. in New York, created the world's first electric guitar. Over the years, Les continued to work closely with Epiphone by reviewing new product ideas and offering suggestions. The Epiphone Les Paul PlusTop PRO electric guitar combines the best of Les Paul's original design with new features that set this Epiphone guitar apart.

Professional Electronics
The Les Paul PlusTop PRO uses Epiphone's 4-wire, nickel/silver base humbuckers with newly tooled, USA-style bobbins. In the neck position is Epiphone’s chrome-covered ProBucker-2 with warm, thick vintage tone. It's uniquely paired with a chrome-covered ProBucker-3 humbucker, an inspired by version of Gibson's BurstBucker-3, that features unevenly wound coils and Alnico-II magnets that replicate that "Patent Applied for" airy tone. To top it all off, both volume controls feature push/pull potentiometers allowing you to coil-split each pickup for single-coil sounds. Combined with the 3-way toggle, you get 6 unique sounds from one great Les Paul guitar.

Premium tone woods
The Epiphone Les Paul PlusTop PRO guitar has a solid mahogany back with a gorgeous, carved flame top. Its solid mahogany neck is hand-fitted and glued into the body for excellent neck-to-body contact and resonates almost like one continuous piece of wood.

Loaded with add-ons
Other features on the Epiphone Les Paul included quality Grover tuners, a traditional cream-colored pickguard, and LockTone™ tune-o-matic bridge with stopbar tailpiece.

  • Mahogany body
  • Carved flamed maple top
  • 24.75" Scale set-in mahogany neck

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition Les Paul PlusTop PRO Electric Guitar:

Wow, this axe is awesome. The pups really scream with an overdrive pedal. It was a toss up betweeen the trans amber and the antique natural. I couldn't tell much difference except the amber was a bit more orange. Mine has a fatter neck than my other epi LP plus tops. The craftsmanship is excellent on mine and it feels solid like a LP should. I play classic and southern rock and this axe can handle it and more. Lots of tone combinations. The price was right, it was packed well and shipped free...whatta deal!!!!

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition Les Paul PlusTop PRO Electric Guitar:

I didn't want to order this off the internet because I couldn't see pictures too well. I was afraid the paint was going to be dull or wrong color pattern. I even called the 800 num and the guy pretty much reread the description and looked at the same pictures and came to the conclusion it was a dull satin finish. but on other links I saw better pictures. I ordered the dessert burst and happy with what came in. this paint does have a high gloss. and that makes all the difference. its a beautiful guitar. don't be fooled by the bad pictures.

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition Les Paul PlusTop PRO Electric Guitar:

This is a very nice guitar and the tone is solid. It sounds exceptionally good running straight into my Mesa amp with no pedals or effects. The guitar played well out of the box, but greatly improved after a string change and setup to my preference. The finish is beautiful.
I have no regrets regarding this purchase.

The Epiphone Limited Edition Les Paul PlusTop PRO Electric Guitar Desertburst is an exceptional guitar in many ways. It is solid with great sustain. The craftmanship is much better than I anticipated with the wood, both front and back looking really good as well as the outstanding finish. It plays and sounds great and the Grovers are better than on any of my other guitars. I also purchased the Epiphone hardshell case at the same time. I recommend both of these products.

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition Les Paul PlusTop PRO Electric Guitar:

Overall this is a beautiful guitar both looks and sounds. Great shipping from Musicainsfriend. Great packing from manufacturer.
Only complains I have is the craftsmanship. The white binding (plastic) is chipped around the 4th fret position. Only time will tell whether this will become an issue or not aside from appearance. The color is slightly different at the join between the neck and body.
The tone on this guitar is incredible, play any single note then hit the same note on a Gibson; it will out-ring the Gibson. When I play around the 12th fret positions, I discover sweet notes I've never known before.

This is absolutely a great guitar for the money.

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition Les Paul PlusTop PRO Electric Guitar:

Great Guitar, picked it up during MF's Tax sale and couldn't be happier. Right out of the box this guitar was set up pretty well. Only issue I had was tone/volume knobs were on a bit crooked, but is easily fixed. The Probuckers on this thing are great, nice warm vintage sound. This things sounds awesome clean or dirty, just the way an LP should, not to mention sustain for days. I picked mine up in Desert Sunburst and was so glad the rep from MF pointed me in that direction, the color is gorgeous. The pictures on here do not even come close to how beautiful this guitar is. If you're in the market for an LP, this is the guitar for you. The price could not be beat and MF is ALWAYS a pleasure to work with.

UPS just dropped it off and I'm in shock. I purchased the desertburst model and let me tell you the pictures don't come close to doing it justice, because the guitar is just stunning. Tuned it up and plugged it in and was again surprised at what it can do. I recently sent back an Epiphone Standard because I didn't care for it at all, but not this one, this one's staying. Set up seems to be on the money and it justs sounds fantastic.I have an American Special Strat at twice the price that can't stand up to this guitar, again I'm really happy with this purchase. Incredible guitar for the price, Wow
                      Thanks Musicians Friend.

I got the Desert Burst finish and it looks beautiful, no flaws in the finish. Setup out of the box is another matter. Epiphone's "Pre-Pack Checklist" showed that someone had checked off on everything, but I kinda doubt it. All 4 volume and tone knobs were barely on the shafts and wobbled when you turn them (not a real big deal, I just had to push them on, but seriously, no one noticed this??!!) Intonation was a disaster, but again, I can do that and it is now perfect. All in all, once I get the nut cut down a bit, it will be a really nice instrument. It has great tone and sustain, and I would recommend this to a friend.
