First off, i am a fan of alexi, and i do have 2 of these guiars (black w/ yellow, white w/ black) one Drop C, the other Standard tuning. these guitars are not for everybody, they are mainly for metal guitarist, someone whos looking for good distortion, easy playability, and aggresive solos. alot of people seem to complain about having only one pickup -_- if you enjoy using the neck pickup, this guitar is NOT for you. The "feel" is nice, honestly reminds me of my gibson les paul custom(no exageration). i was originally going to get the Jackson rr, cause i use jacksons as well... but besides the shape, jacksons have a bit wider neck, this alexi model is slightly thinner (similar to Gibson). the pickup that people complain about, is a PASSIVE pickup... not active. it has a more natural tone compared to active, but if you dont like it, either turn up your distortion, or you can buy his 3band eq booster. my main reason for buying this over the rr is the Cut-Away for the 24th fret... it is so much easier the play the 20-24 fret area than any other V guitar. the floyd rose 1000 series is good, only draw back is its difficult to make it "chirp" or "flutter" whatever that technique is called..(its a advanced technique) does it for a good second =/ ive had these guitars for a few years, no problems, good sustain, and if your smooth enough with some added effects you can play "respect the wind" by eddie van halen (if you know that song youd know how accomplished that is)
Anywho great guitar, try it out before you buy!!

If you must have a offset v with an emg and you have an aversion to jacksons this may be your only option. Just be prepared to keep a bottle of newskin in your guitar case and cash on reserve to repair the input jack ( while your at it you may want to replace the lifeless pickup).
The ESP version was actualy well fisnished and once the pick up was swaped sounded like a desireable guitar.
Yeah this guitar has all these awsome features in specs on paper; yet fails to deliver in comparison to similar models. The Floyd Rose is a low quality version that rusted in reguar use as a back up ( some of my guitars that are 13 years old with origanals have wear but don't rust). The EMG HZ pick up is lifeless. The ebony fretboard looked more like a badly stained piece of plywood in comparison to othere simalrly priced and cheaper guitars. I became discolered and slimmy incredible quick (managed to get a blue cheese smell left in its case? never had this happen before.)
And as a warning if you play this guitar sitting down with the the V over your right thigh be prepared to have the output jack repaired monthly; this is not the case with the jackson equivlent, and a real pain.
I could see that this guitar was neck thru, through the blotchy paint job, way to pay attention to detail! The fret work was horrible strings would get caught on the frets and i managaed to cut myself on the frets.
I thought that since i got one of the first ones that this may have been forgivable, till i tried another and it was just as poor of fit and finish and just as lifeless and painful to play. Maybe this is why is see a lot coming up used.
I brought this as a back up beater for a for american and professional series jacksons, i ended loaning it to a friend for a show he played and let him keep it exchange for my bar tab at the show.
For a little more the jackson professional series destroys this guitar particularly the Kevin Bonds (that thing is incrediable).

Comments about ESP LTD ALEXI-600 Electric Guitar:
I ordered it without ever trying it and boy was that a big mistake. I paid full price $999.00. Everything about the guitar is 2nd best. The neck is just ok, the finish is terrible, and the design is just a decal. I have it tuned in drop c with perfect intonation and can't hit harmonics in certain spots and dive bombs are just not coming out correctly. I've owned probably 50 guitars through out the years and this was by far my worst choice. Bad guitar, bad value.
Comments about ESP LTD ALEXI-600 Electric Guitar:
Bought this guitar because it is a great guitar and at $600 a STEAL!the scythe inlays are awesome, and the unfinished neck is silky smooth and plays like butter!I didn't like the EMG HZ at all, and immediately changed it to an active 81My only real complaint is that the guitar arrived with a 2mm pain scrape on one of the fins that I was VERY VERY mad about

I was a little hesitant on ordering this guitar... I'm so glad I did order it... the neck feels so nice in my hands... feels like it was made to be in my hands... the one of many things that sticks out, is the one volume control...i cant stand too many knobs.. the Floyd is always awesome... this guitar is fun to play, I suggest you test one out.. you wont be disapponted...
Comments about ESP LTD ALEXI-600 Electric Guitar:
first off, Alexi Laiho is a great guitarist and I think this Guitar is too. I went to a guitar center looking for something mellower than my other guitars (Jacksons, B.C. Rich, Dean) like a fender but when i seen this, i had to play it. so i played it... and i played it... and i played it for 3 hours in the store so i said forget the fender and i bought this. in my opinion, the only thing I would change is the lack of neck pickup, if it had one it would be perfect. I play scalloped neck guitars and I scallop them my self so when I scalloped this fretboard out, it really could shred then! so far it hasn't gone out of tune in 4 weeks of non-stop playing. i love this guitar. BUY IT!

it's not a bad guitar but don't expect something identical to jackson rr shape. passive emg is good for metal music yet it's not good for cleans.

first of this is a great v..i just got mine today..i got the blacky...and i have owened a lot of esp ltd guitars.i had the real esp japan alexi white.. and a esp kh2.a one of a kind alfie.and a few ltds..i know esps or ltds are the best metal guitar out ther..so please listin when i say they made a mistake with the alexi 600 blacky..ok..hears the problum..the black pearl binding on the neck.they made the fret dots white.they blend in with the black pearl binding..you cant see them..so you will loose track of wher your dots are..i do.. and you will to..and if its dark on stage..forget it..but if you have esp. you can get away with it..so to me thats a big problum.thank you..
Comments about ESP LTD ALEXI-600 Electric Guitar:
ESP's Jackson RR copy Alexi in US is different than in Japan and in Europe ( those are nearly the same with Jackson RRs )lower horn is longer and makes it look like similar to KV. This guitar plays well, can be seen as a good guitar in the price range but one must consider few things before buying ; cut away doesn't change many things ( trust me it doesnt and ruining the look of the guitar for a minor thing in my opinion ) don't expect a 2000$+ guitars' neck quality , lack of neck pick up may bother you in future ( considering youre a young cob fan, don't forget that most of the melodic death metal guitarists use neck pickups ), i don't know why they changed the floyd rose but it doesnt go out of the tune that much yet it's not as good as licensed floyd rose. Emg pick ups are good, alexi always been using Emg passive pickups but Alexi has a new signature EMG pick up with boost switch now so this guitar looks already outdated because ESP might want to come with a new signature guitar with Alexi's sig. pick up in 2010. In short it's not a bad guitar but when it comes to RR shapes go for the original ones.
Comments about ESP LTD ALEXI-600 Electric Guitar:
I recently sat down and played this guitar for a few hours at my local guitar center, and decided to post my thoughts for prospect buyers. First and foremost, the EMG-HZ rear pickup does exactly what it's supposed to. I had no problem getting a searing lead sound, even out of not-that-metal amplifiers. The lack of a front pickup creates a large space that I find enables very aggressive playing, which I like. The neck and fingerboard are smooth and playable, and are very very conducive to fast playing. The Bridge didn't go out of tune, despite my many attempts to make it do so with ridiculous dive-bombs. The guitar is fairly light, and feels great in your hands. Overall, I really enjoyed playing it, and hope to get one for myself at some point. I just wish they offered the black body with scythe inlays xD
