A carved maple top and EMG pickups give you beauty in looks and tone.

The ESP LTD Deluxe MH-1000 electric guitar features a set-thru 3-piece maple neck, mahogany body with gorgeous carved maple top, and a rosewood fretboard. The thin, U-shaped neck with 24 extra jumbo frets provides comfort and speed. An EMG-81 humbucker at the bridge and an 85 at the neck provide plenty of power and note definition. Grover tuners and an FR locking nut keep you tuned and intoned, so you'll sound your best. Volume, tone and a 3-way toggle give you options with simplicity. Genuine Floyd Rose bridge let you dive bomb the night away. Black hardware, offset abalone block inlays and white with abalone purfling finish off a great look.

Set-thru neck construction is an innovative technique in which the neck is glued to the body (like a set neck), however the traditional bulky heel is carved away (similar to neck-thru-body construction). This makes access to the ESP MH-1000's upper frets and the neck-to-body transition much smoother. Just as on a set neck, you will get a combination of tone from both the neck and body with the set-thru construction. The sound will depend on the types of wood used, but generally will have a fuller, warmer tone when compared to most neck-thru-body electric guitars.

I bought this guitar in August of 2009 with the intention of temporarily replacing my Jackson RR1 while I was overseas. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and craftsmanship that went in to this guitar. It has bar-none one of the best finishes I have seen to date (I had the black one). The pearl inlays are beautiful, but somewhat distracting, in my opinion. In terms of sound, 6/10 times I would pick this up over my RR1, simply because at the time I was really in to hardcore/metalcore and this guitar is undoubtably designed for that exact purpose. The only reason I gave this guitar a 4.5 overall is versatility. I started playing rock-cover gigs 1-2 times a week to keep me on top of my game while I was inbetween hardcore/metal bands. I got so sick of re-tuning my Floyd Rose practices/shows, I started leaving it at home altogether and used whatever house guitar was available at the venue. Floyd Rose served me well in the majority of situations, but if you plan on playing a setlist with multiple tuning setups and you care about the locking tremlo, be prepared for intermissions...long ones.I'm currently trying to part ways with this guitar after purchasing a Music Man John Petrucci 6 w/ Piezo. I would keep it if I had a purpose for it, but right now it's sitting in my house collecting dust. Bottom-Line: If you plan on playing Metal/Hardcore genre, look no further, because this is the best value for the quality of product.

Comments about ESP LTD Deluxe MH-1000 Electric Guitar with EMGs:

The Guitar Is Gorgeous,Great Action/Tone I Have The Black Version But I Wish I Had The Blue1000FR(Discontinued). Ive Had The Guitar For Over Two Years Now And It's Been Graeat To Me, And Still Looks/Plays Like that First Day I Recieved It. I Did Have To Install .Block Behind The Tremolo(Proffesionally). The Bridge Has Always Had A Slight Problem Returning To Perfect Zero Position. Some People May Not Notice This, But If You Have An Articulate Ear It's A Problem. The Tremolo Block Has Made It So I Can Only Dive, No Pulling Up On The Whammy,Thus The 4 Stars, But The Tuning Problem Is No More. The Sacrifice Was Worth It To Me.Staying In Tune Onstage Is a Must And It Has Helped Me Play Some Awesome, Worry Free Shows. There Is Now A New Solution To This Called the Mag-Lock Im considering. But Still, Rocking Guitar.

Comments about ESP LTD Deluxe MH-1000 Electric Guitar with EMGs:

I just got this guitar in 2 days ago and I can't put it down. It looks 100 times better in person than it does on the website. The emgs sound great Its my first guitar with emgs and I love them. I took the stock strings off and put the down tuning DR strings on it and lowered my action and it plays sooo good the neck is great its thin and has easy play ability. I really haven't found anything bad about it but I've only had it for 2 days. Im not a huge fan of the whammy bar but I mess around with the floyd rose every now an then. This guitar is perfect for playing metal and thats what I like to play. But you can still get some real good clean tones. Anyone who is a fan of esp ltd guitars I would recommend this guitar to all or anyone who is just looking for a great guitar to play.

just got mine in the mail today! all around shredder. the neck is very fast, and ive noticed my picking cleaned up a little bit, people like to say its the player and not the guitar but thats just not true i pick pretty clean on my jackson which has a 45mm width fretboard which i played from starting out with, up to about 7 years into my guitar playing experience. so it goes without saying the 45mm is more comfortable to me as apposed to my schecter, it has the 42mm and i have noticed a major difference between the two in the cleanliness of my picking.. this guitar has the 42mm which i was fretting (pun intended) but my apprehension was laid to rest within the first 15 min shreddin on it.. the action is outstanding! the floyd rose does its job. i recommend this guitar 100% the emg81/85 setup is just unmatched for metal playing, i recently put the lamb of god signature dimarzio decimator (i think its called lol) in the bridge of my shcecter, and it has a solid sound, my jackson has emg hz's, which i think are a little to jacked on the highs, very fuzzy.. but the 81/85 setup is wonderful, if i dont want to switch my pickups to the neck position playing high notes i dont have to, the emg 81 keeps a pretty solid bottom end top end balance on the high notes as well as low and open notes....... i guess the only problem i have found with this guitar is the necks cleaning job, i actually work at an acoustic guitar plant and i clean necks there, and i put a lot of effort into the quality of my work, so the first thing that stuck out to me like a sore thumb is the blade chatter on the binding of the fretboard. somebody unexperienced must have worked on mine but over all thats an easy fix and nothing to deter you from considering this guitar. 10/10 even with the sloppy neck cleaning! ;)

This guitar is very good, its my favorite guitar that I own. It plays better then my Les Pauls. Coming stock with EMGS is great, also it has a Floyd Rose 1000 bridge from what I understand from the Floyd rose website is that its Korean made version of the original Floyd. It is made with the same materials only difference is that its made in Korea. It plays amazing too very little fret buzz. I keep mine in C# Standard with 11-56 strings to play death metal like Dying Fetus,Suffocation etc. And composing my own music. My only two complaints with this guitar is that the metal on the bridge and tuners came smeared off a little no big deal, and that the selector switch cap came off very easily. I would be playing a song and go to change pickups and flick the cap off. After almost losing it several times I glued it on with some craft glue.

This guitar can only be described as beautiful. I love picking up this guitar whenever I have to practice or just feel like jamming, and it feels really comfortable. Just took a little while to set up, but it's worth every second. Great for playing metal with the EMGs, clean sound is ok for my tastes, but I mean you buy this thing for the heavy, and it delivers.

This guitar is amazing! Definitely love the tone of it. The EMGs are very great for playing. The neck is fast, very comfortable. I used to have a Schecter Omen extreme 6 FR. I didn't like it at all so I returned it and thought about buying this. Got it, played it, enjoyed it. It has proven itself through 30 minutes of playing. Not to mention, I kept playing it for maybe more than 4 hours. I have it in See-Thru black cherry. Very beautiful finish. I recommend this guitar to people who are looking for a good tone, and comfortable feeling.

ESP continues to just absolutely blow me away with their designs and quality. I have no idea how they get an over seas factory to produce such amazing workmanship but they do. If you are looking for this style guitar don't hesitate. I tried an Ibanez that is very similar to this and the ESP absolutely blows it away.
Quilted top, polished rosewood fret board, floyd rose, locking nut, string tree, jumbo frets, EMG's. What more could you ask for?
This is the first guitar I have ever pulled out of the box that was absolutely perfect. The finish is flawless, the frets have no sharp edges and are polished to the smoothest shine I've ever seen, the hardware is flawless, and the fret board has a nice smooth finish. The truss rod adjustment on the fretboard was nice and straight right out of the box and the guitar came in tune! The locking nut an Floyd Rose are doing their job if this is the case.
For the money the quality is just unreal. I've seen guitars 4X's this price that didn't have this quality. The guitar I purchased is flawless and loaded with features.
