I saw Gus play with Ozzy and the second they started "No More Tears" i knew i had to buy his ax. I currently use this as a secondary guitar whole step down / C# tunings it works great with drop tunings. my only grievance is it should have Seymour Duncans and a Floyd Rose. if you want a good guitar specifically for drop tunings for cheap get this. for standard tunings i recommended Gibson SG special faded or jackson warrior. but for drop tunings go with this
Ive owned this guitar for a year now, and its still going strong. The only thing i dont like about the guitar is its not balanced AT ALL! Its hard to play it standing up.I had a gig last week and the LTD gus-200 was the guitar i used, since its so unbalanced it makes it hard to hit chords and solos., but overall its a great guitar.
The Gus-200 is a beautiful guitar. I had the Gus-600 and the only real difference's I noticed was the pickups need to be replaced and the Gus-600 neck dives more. The 200 stays in tune perfectly! I am installing the 85/81 combo tonight.
I own a Ibanez s-470 and nothing to me has been able to even come close to sounding as good as that guitar. I went into guitar center yesterday and saw the Gus G. model and let me tell you. I was very VERY impressed with it. The only little drawback I have with it, is its size. I'm 6'4 and it was a little small, but fitted perfectly on my lap and had an absolute amazing sound. Set up properly that guitar is a beast.
I own this guitar. It looked really cool, but looks can be deceiving. Right away, the strings were buzzing. It goes out of tune quickly, like half way through each song. Not by much, but still enough that the song sounds really bad. However, if you are looking for a guitar that is distorted, like if you have a special metal song, then buy this. But for rock, jazz, and blues, this guitar is not for you.
