The LTD GUS-600 features a maple neck-thru alder body, flamed maple top and rosewood fretboard. The thin U-shaped neck with 22 extra jumbo frets provides comfort and speed. Fire inlays and black nickel hardware complement the rest of the guitar's look perfectly. A Seymour Duncan Distortion humbucker pickup at the bridge and a '59 pickup at the neck provide plenty of power. A Floyd Rose tremolo bridge gives you the control to make this beast scream and groan. I received my Gus-600 yesterday and it looks amazing and sounds great. Those Duncans kick butt! Unfortunately, I am returning it because the guitar is totally unbalanced. The neck drops. I am constantly holding the neck up. The neck is overwhelming for the body. Comes with the original Floyd Rose which was kool too. Hope this helps.
i had a chance to play one and it is very top heavy. i loved the action and the sound aint bad either. to help with the neck dive we tried moving the strap button. it helped a little with the guitar being top heavy. so everyone who is having issue with the guitar being playable while standing, just try moving the strap button.

This is a great guitar. I bought it while it was on clearance cause i just didnt have the grand to spend on a guitr and it has been the best guitar that i have played. The pickups in it are great and they are every bit as good as emg's and the coil tap switch gives u tones that would make a strat jealous. when u buy a star shaped guitar, expect it to dive and adjust your playing around it, it doesnt dive horrible, but it is noticable
So I bought this guitar after playing it a few weeks ago. Since the guitar shop in town didn't have it I opted to special order one, and boy was it worth it!! This guitar plays like no other, the neck feels so smooth and makes the fast runs sound clean as can be. As for all the negative comments, I can agree that yes this guitar dives becuase it is neck heavy. But it really isn't that bad, once you get used to it. It is definitley worth it and it has a very astonishing tone. It even made my crappy fender practice amp sound amazing.
Once you set up the bridge, this baby won't go out of tune. I play in two metal bands playing wide vibratos and using the whammy bar and I only have to tune the thing about once a week- and they are usually very minor adjustments at that. The sound is fantastic. These Duncans are much more dynamic and powerful than EMG's. The body is heavy and creates a very full tone. The coil splitter works great for clean, you can really get a creamy or twangy strat-type clean sound. The playability is amazing as you would expect from any ESP. As a response to the reviewers crying about the neck dropping, the solution is so easy- just rest your right arm on the wing and the guitar will stay right where you want it. Lastly, this beast looks great on stage! For the sound, feel, looks and price, I couldn't be happier with this guitar.
ESP really dropped the ball with the ESP LTD GUS-600! This guitar is beyond unbalanced, ESP shouldn't be trying to sell these as is! The neck dive is unbearable! I've tried several deferent straps, including a rather large & tacky leather one, and there's no stopping the neck dive. It's real shame, as this guitar is loaded with cool features like real Floyd and real Duncans, but it's just not fit to be played as it comes out of the box. I'm either sending it back or butchering up to try and get it to hang. Really don't think moving strap button location will be enough to get it to hang? Thinking the body is just not substantial enough to keep the neck from diving?
I just got it today, I was so pumped. As soon as I played it, I found out for myself what others said about it. This thing is almost impossible to play. The neck is like a baseball bat with a concrete block hanging off of it. When you play standing it nose dives straight down and sitting it constantly falls of your leg. It would not be too bad if the neck was thinner. To get the thin neck you have to get the more expensive version, it might be better balenced as well. I do have to say it looks and sounds great.
