Fender

The 21st century way to rock Tele style!

The Fender American Deluxe Telecaster Electric Guitar has a new compound-radius fretboard for effortless string bending anywhere along the neck. The staggered locking tuners improve tuning stability for stunt guitarists who like to bend behind the nut. New N3 noiseless pickups provide improved Telecaster tones for snappy bell-like chime with no hum. Other features include a bound-top body with belly cut, S-1 switching, chromed brass bridge saddles, bound top and a beveled neck heel.

Fender includes a new molded Fender-exclusive SKB case with glass-reinforced latches and TSA locks, cable, and strap locks with the American Deluxe Telecaster.

Fender N3 Noiseless pickups
N3 Noiseless pickups deliver the best of yesterday and today, because they deliver landmark vintage Fender tone and response without the hum that can plague single-coil pickups. Using an improved stacked coil-coil design, N3 Noiseless pickups are specially tailored for each Telecaster pickup position. The insulated metal core of each pickup position type differs in thickness and composition for enhanced tone. Fender has fine-tuned the sized, shape, and wire gauge of the pickup coils to balance the magnetic responsiveness essential to great tone. Fender N3 pickups represent a welcome return to the warmth and clarity of alnico magnets. An Alnico 5 magnet is used in the bridge position, Alnico 2 in the middle position, and Alnico 3 for the neck position.

Great Versatile Guitar!

The American Deluxe Telecaster is a great guitar, and extremely versatile!   I had always wanted a tele since I started playing guitar at age 8.  When I had pooled enough funds for my "dream guitar" this one seemed to be the best choice!  Mine has the 3-tone sunburst finish with a maple neck and I LOVE it!  I'm always getting compliments on how pretty my guitar is! I usually play through a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe amp.

The neck pickup is great for bluesy/warm/Clapton type tones, if you want a nice thin tone, mid-way on the selector will get you there no problem. and the bridge pickup is great for solos, and a chicken picker's dream!  I generally play with my church band, so there are a good many instruments, but with that bridge pickup, the tele cuts right through the mix!  And of course, the S1 system is a MUST!  It gives great humbucking type tone for both rhythm and lead.

So in all, if you are looking for a tele, I'd say spend the extra and get this one!  my dad had purchased a strat a couple years before I got my tele, and he says if he could do it over, he'd get this tele.

and of course, the best fact:  MADE IN USA!!

Everything I hoped for and more

Features:

The chrome plated brass bridge saddles, S1 switching system, strap locks, and the finish applied to the body are some of the best features associated with this Tele.

Quality:

Upon close inspection regarding the wood grain of the alder body, the straight grain maple neck, dressing and polishing of the frets, and the manner in which the finish was applied is top notch. Every detail concerning the assembly and fit is very meticulously done. The alder body is absolutely gorgeous.

Value:

This is one high dollar guitar, it's shame you have to spend this much money to get this kind attention to detail and reasonably good materials. I own several high end instruments (PRS Custom 22 Artist model) and you would think for a high price, Fender would have at least sprung for an Ash body.

Overall:

I told myself a long time ago I would never purchase a mail order guitar, too risky. I have been nothing but pleased with every aspect of this experience. The guitar itself is excellent regarding setup, intonation and playability. The alder body, color and finish are first rate. This is my first Telecaster and I am very happy with the extremely bright tone. I was alittle worried that it would sound thin with the single coil pickups, but with the right amp settings I believe this guitar could even pull off metal style playing. Overall I am exstatic with the looks and sound of this instrument. Fender did a great job!

Wonderful guitar

Ive owned this guitar for three years now. It still plays the same, if not better than the day i picked it out at the store. Absolutely wonderful guitar, and beautiful in the aged cherry burst.

The S-1 switching system doesn't provide much tonal versitality. It is basically useless. As a matter of fact, I normally forget that it is there to begin with. The bridge pickup is very edgy for that nice twang sound. I actually had to back off on the treble on my amp, where i normally play a strat. The neck pickup is probably my favorite. It is the sweetest sound ever. It has a great bluesy sound. The middle postion of the three way switch, having both pickups activated, has a very nice hollow bodied guitar sound.

The guitar was machined and put together very nicely. Hardly any flaws in the frets. The guitar will stay in tune until the strings wear out. No matter how hard you play this thing, or how long, it will stay in tune. Astonishing.

I actually found this guitar cheaper at Willis Music in Louisville, Ky. It had one small spot on top of the body,     but my arm covers it up while im playing. Cant see it unless you are looking for it.

This guitar was my first "real" guitar. I got it as a gift and was totally blown away. Any tone is possible with this guitar -  from country to metal. The neck of this instrument is like butter, and very easy to play. Every piece of this guitar is top notch, the finish is mind boggling. If you are a serious guitarist and do not have this instrument... you are missing out.

Well, I've always bought the MIM Teles in the past because I don't use a Tele very often. I'll be playing this one FAR more often because it's the nicest Fender guitar I've ever played! Right from the start, I opened the case and was awestruck by the build quality and appearance of this guitar. I have the Aged Cherry Burst with Maple neck, all I can say is WOW! The N3 pickups are much nicer in the Tele, I didn't care for them all that much in the Strat. The S1 functionality is quite usable on this guitar. Yeah, it's not a cheap guitar. But, if you are serious about tone and quality, this is it in spades! Love this guitar, zero complaints at all! Get yours and see what I mean!
