Tradition redesigned.
The Fender American Stratocaster Electric Guitar is a Fender icon. Juicy upgrades include a richer, deeper neck tint for a more elegant and expensive appearance; glossed neck front for improved looks with satin back for smooth playability; and bent steel Fender saddles with classic look and great tone. String spacing is narrowed for modern playability, saddle height screws are resized to reduce rough feel, and string slot on saddle is elongated to reduce string friction or breakage. The Copper Infused Cast Strat® Bridge Block (steel with copper—100% metal) provides increased mass and improved tone. This Strat features the original headstock shape but has staggered machine heads losing one string tree and improving string angle over the nut. Custom staggered pickup magnets improve string-to-string balance and give the G-string better tone. Cosmetics include parchment/black/parchment pickguard and parchment pickup covers, knobs, and tips.
The return of the American Standard Series Strat continues Fender's tradition of commitment to the people who play Fender instruments out there in the real world. Today's American Standard Stratocaster guitars are worthy heirs of their revered ancestors—mindful of player needs and taking full advantage of modern advances, yet remaining completely true to the elements and spirit that made these instruments popular in the first place. Improvements include redesigned bridges, neck and body finishes, and a Fender-exclusive high-tech molded case. Still on board for the American Standard Strat are the beloved hand-rolled fingerboard edges, Alnico V pickups, the Delta system that includes a high-output bridge pickup and a special no-load tone control, providing more gain, more high end, and a little more "raw" tone, and staggered tuning machines for tone and stability guaranteed to last a lifetime (with its limited lifetime warranty)!
Redesigned American Standard Strat® Bridge
Gives sought-after tone with modern smooth trem travel. Block retains the mass and tone of a vintage bridge block, but is chamfered for access to deeper dives. Saddles have the classic look and tone, but with modern improvements (spacing, slot elongation, height, screw length).
Bridge Component Specifics
American Standard saddles - The original vintage-style Fender bent steel adjustable saddle is one of the components that give vintage Fenders their tonal 'mojo.' Fender conducted tone comparison tests, and fell in love with them all over again. They have a wider tonal range and more character many other saddles. Then Fender improved them; narrowing the spacing to afford more room (and complement the bigger frets and rolled edges), elongated the string slot to reduce friction and string breakage, and improved the string break angle over the primary contact point.
Tone-fusion block - A typical cast bridge block is impregnated with a resin to eliminate voids in the material and to bond it together … this steel block is infused with copper, which makes the block 100% homogeneous metal. The result is a more musical, higher mass bridge that has more of that machined-block sound. Fender was also able to keep the same American Series profile for increased tremolo travel.

I bought one in 2009 but traded up for a 2007 Deluxe American burnt cherry burst with maple neck and abalone dot markers that was too pretty to pass up. The Deluxe American has all the bells and whistles that will make it a permanent part of my collection of Strats, but I missed the up front tone and jangle of an American Standard. I saved up enough beans to replace the 2009 and am very happy with this 2011. Fender got everything right when they built this guitar . The trem arm hole lines up perfectly on this one compared to the 2009 which was slightly askew. every note on the fretboard is right on. The blizzard pearl is nice combo with the maple neck ,but I would have preferred the olympic pearl if it was available on the standard. I also think Fender made a mistake by not offerring cherry burst or seianna burst with the Deluxe American any more.
This one is flawless.
Waited for a good sale price and pulled the trigger.

Sold as "like new", this 2011 Amer. Standard Strat was really in absolute MINT conditon.
Excellent setup out-of-the-box (it was even in perfect tune). Plays like butter. Sounded wonderful even before I replaced the pickups with Texas Specials (which was my plan all along). It now has an amazing SRV and Mark Knopfler sound, and it is a joy to play. Thanks, Musician's Friend and Fender!

I could not be happier with this guitar. I've owned Mexican made Strats for years, and the pots always give out.. among other things. you end up replacing them every other year. This is the real deal - American made quality, and elegant. I always wanted to play the banjo, you can only play happy notes on a banjo. Wanting to rock, I quickly fell in love with Stratocaster as the notes are as beautiful and happy as i could ever have hoped. Put a VOX wah, OCD distortion, and Boss Digital Delay and you will be very happy with your setup.
Incredibly well built, beautiful finish, and easy to play. The action is fantastic, the tone is perfect, and the quality components make this the perfect guitar.
You can spend more money, but why bother. This American Made Fender Stratocaster is absolutely perfect.

I picked up the Candy Cola American Standard Strat over the 4th of July weekend. What can I say...this is truly the standard by which all other guitars are compared. The photos on the site did nothing to show the true beauty of the finish on the guitar. It is flawless. Right out of the box, the guitar felt great...no need for a set-up at all. I have owned dozens of guitars over the years, including other Strats and Teles. This one feels as good as any of them did, and it sounds great. Pick one up...you won't be disappointed.

I don't have much to add that hasn't already been said about the legendary Fender Stratocaster. Oceans of music have been written and performed with this instrument. The 2011 models offer great fit and finish, lighter TONEFUL bodies and the greatest unadvertised feature is that they are routed Hum Single Hum under the pickguard, so you can change and upgrade pickups to your liking and not dig into your instrument. There are several popular companies who offer pre-wired pickguards and they are a snap in the 2011s because of the H/S/H route. If you are on the fence at all...BUY ONE. I have two and they are amazing.

My 2010 American Standard Stratocaster in Olympic White with a maple fretboard is the first electric guitar I have purchased, but I'm extremely glad I went for it. The tone is unreal, and everything just feels so natural. I have never had problems with the tuners, bridge, frets, etc. I think the neck is my favorite part. This guitar put a bit of a dent in my wallet, but it really is worth it for such a versatile and great-sounding guitar.
BEAUTIFUL tone. The single coils hum slightly, but that has never really bothered me.
I have yet to find a single flaw on this guitar. The setup wasn't perfect for me, but that definitely varies depending on the player.
It is a little expensive, but once you get it in your hands, you know it's worth it.

What a great purchase! This guitar plays great and fits my hands like a glove. Awesome tone that you would expect from a strat. Some people are complaining about the price, but I think it is a steal. There are plenty of guitars out there way more expensive. Buy it, you won't regret it! : )
