Comments about Fender American Vintage '57 Stratocaster Electric Guitar:
The craftsmanship on this guitar is flawless.
The neck is extremely comfortable but not as slick as the neck on my 2007 American Deluxe. It allows me to really grip the neck for amazing vibrato and bends. It stays perfectly in tune even with heavy handed Blues playing.
The best sustain of any guitar I've ever owned or played. Pick one note and it will ring endlessly.
The pickups are very crisp and clear.
I'm thrilled to have this in my musical arsenal.
Comments about Fender American Vintage '57 Stratocaster Electric Guitar:
I've heard people say they don't like the thin tone..Then WHY BUY A STRAT?..That's what a Strat does!! If you want fat tone, buy a Les Paul for crying out loud!! I love the in between tones and cluck I can get out of this thing..i play through a AC-30 Clone and it sounds sweet!! Does distortion really well too..you just have to know what it's limitations are!!
Nice Skinny neck, Maple board and Sweet Strat Tone..I've been sour on Strats for years, but this thing is a keeper!!
Stays in tune, even with severe bending!! Action is Perfect!!
A little Spendy in this economy, but you get what you pay for..Great Job Fender!!
Comments about Fender American Vintage '57 Stratocaster Electric Guitar:
All things considered a great guitar at a decent pricepoint.
I've owned countless Fenders-old and newer.Just got one of these American Vintage '57 Strats. This ranks as the apex of Strats in my opinion. In short-TOO COOL NOT TO OWN!!
Put the 5-way switch in and your off !!!
Great quality.
You can spend a lot more on custom shop guitars-doesn't mean your going to be glad you did necessarily.
Comments about Fender American Vintage '57 Stratocaster Electric Guitar:
I've owned one of these for 28 years and it's never let me down. If you're in the market for a true Strat this and the 62 reissue are the real deal. Drop a Hot Rails into the bridge position and you'll have all the bases covered. Fender got it right when they reissued these, though a bit pricey they're still a great deal. Go ahead hit the buy button you won't be sorry!

Comments about Fender American Vintage '57 Stratocaster Electric Guitar:
I really want this instrument. Fender's quality isflawless these days. I have a Gibson SG Special and its not the best, so I'll get this. I love thesurf green finish, as well as the others. Love that good ol' strat sound. Who cares about hum. I need to buy this. I reccomend YOU to get this.
Comments about Fender American Vintage '57 Stratocaster Electric Guitar:
If you like the 50's you gotta have this strat. This is a real re-creation of the original. The quality is just the best, it rivals a custom shop anyday. The neck is like butter, my 2 tone sunburst is perfect, the vintage frets are wonderful and the 3 way switch with the 57/62 pickups are amazing. This strat is simply the best there is out there. I don't think there is another one that can compete.
Comments about Fender American Vintage '57 Stratocaster Electric Guitar:
I bought a 1957 and 1962 vintage strat a few years ago and I love them. Compared them to actual strats that old and am impressed with the quality and attention to detail making them identical to older guitars costing much more. Get one, you won't be sorry.
Comments about Fender American Vintage '57 Stratocaster Electric Guitar:
Negatives: The ash tray is useless because you are not going to put it back on the bridge with ashes in it. The short scale really wants 10's on it. I like to play with 11's but I am happier with 10,s (Ernie Ball slinkys with the thicker core wire for extra pop) on this particular guitar. I have not tried 9's, they should work just fine. The pickups are very low gain if set correctly (even more than a regular single coil) Don't even think about playing this guitar in a bar with neon lights that are close. It should come with the three-way in the packet and five way switch installed. Positives: It looks Awesome! It feels like a strat should. It sounds like a strat should. I dive the whammy bar all the way down a couple of times per set, and it rarely goes out of tune. I play guitar very very hard and it gets a good sound. My singer plays this guitar very light and it still sound great. I have gotten a lot of different sounds out of it in the recording studio. It came set up fairly well. But I brought it down to hace it set up professionally, and now it is perfect. Conclusion: This is a high quality, professional axe. I will keep it forever. But if I had to do it all over again, I would not have payed the extra money for a vintage. I would have spent a little more for a prettier guitar or a custom shop. Or less money on a modern version of the strat with pickups that pick up less noise like the noiseless. I just don't think it pays to go vintage. But then again, chicks like pastel (surf green); I only bought it for the color. I couldn't find this color any cheeper.
Comments about Fender American Vintage '57 Stratocaster Electric Guitar:
I've played this vintage at a local music store and it sounded great. Unfortunately, I did not have the luxury of playing it for too long and getting the true feel for it. So, I have a question for those who own it. Do any of you find fretting out to be a problem because of the raduis? I really want to buy this guitar, but since I love rock/blues...especially SRV, I do bend strings quite a lot. I appreciate your response.
