Beautiful Guitar

        Comments about Fender CD60CE All-Mahogany Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This guitar is beautiful, the mahogany is true to the image on Musicians Friend. I looked at many pictures of this model before buying, with some people's guitars looking true to what this site had and some with much less striking wood grain and more of a matte finish. The mahogany is beautiful and has a strong mid tone, which is what I like. It's not too bassy or too twangy, plus if you plug it into an amp you can control the eq with the Fishman.
The built in tuner is phenomenal, and I read complaints about the hardware, specifically the tuning pegs and associated machinery being cheap. I think they are solid, this guitar stays in tune very well, and I often switch from standard to open D. The cutaway is beautiful, and it may be a laminated top but it still sounds pristine with very nice highs. This is a great acoustic guitar if you need that sound to really punch through in a band that might overwhelm an acoustic. Sounds great by itself too.
I also read reviews that said the frets are cheap and wear quickly, but I haven't experienced this. It comes with a spare bridge, a few bridge pins, an alan wrench, and keys for the case locks. I also read about the action being too high, but the truss rod is easy to access from the ovation hole at the base of the neck. My action was just fine.
Finally, the fact that it comes with a hardshell case is a fantastic deal. The case is nice and snug fitting. It has a Fender logo on it which I thought would be metal and enamel filling or something like that but it's actually wooden. Nice touch. Overall this is a great steel 6 string with some great small touches and bonuses- cutaway, all mahogany, abalone rosette, cool arch top which you don't often see on Fenders, Fishman tuner/pre-amp, nice case, free guitar stand, all with the Fender name. How is this not an Epiphone at that price?

                Comments about Fender CD60CE All-Mahogany Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I was wanting a specific sound and hoped that this all Mahogany instrument would have it.I wasn't disappointed. Its exactly what I was looking for.The built in tuner is awesome! Once I had it tuned I went right in to playing and forgot to shut the tuner off,had to replace the battery. I hooked it up to a little Fender bullet 150 amp and was amazed at how good this guitar sounds. I play a little classic country and some oldies. I don't try to get loud or "shed" so I can't speak to anything like that. All I can say is,for what I am into its perfect.

I recently bought this guitar, The price and a hard shell case sold me. The all mahogany looks amazing, and the sound this guitar puts out is awesome. I played it in Church for the first time today (through a PA) and was very please with the sound and volume. The on board tuner works great, easy to read and is definitely and plus. I would recommend this to anyone. Great guitar for a great price.

                    Comments about Fender CD60CE All-Mahogany Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Never played a guitar before so take this with a grain of salt. I wanted a guitar to play around with to augment my The Loar LM520VS mandolin. After strumming on one of these in a local guitar shop I fell in love with the Mahogany sound of it. Went back to show it to my wife but they were sold out of them.

When first taking it out of the box I looked it over for flaws, or anything broken on it. Found nothing. Tuned it up (battery was included) and tried to strum a few chords. It suonded nice but the action seemed to high. Minor adjustment on the Truss rod, shaved about 1/8 inch off the bridge dressed and cleaned up frets, put on Martin SD light Acoustic Guitar strings and WOW what a sound came out of this guy.

All the electronics worked as advertised. The only real thing I don't like about it is the Built in Tuner. It is hard to tell the difference between a Sharp and Flat note when watching it. Much easier to try to tune by ear.
