See all above, Fenders' original design, after 60 years in the field continues to prove itself to be just about perfect , it's that simple, or that complicated.
Hmmm I can only say that there is a reason you can't find these guitars in the used market....... they are a fantastic value. They are beautifully made, my sunburst finish one is stunning to look at. The pickups seem just right really in spite of some folks saying they are some how less than... what? I don't know?
The only oddity is the the tone & volume knobs are very stiff to turn, not dragging against the control plate just really stiff. The neck is a chubby C shape and beautifully finished. The frets are the old style small ones which some folks say are hard to mange with bends and such, noproblem here.
I you like a straight ahead classic workhorse guitar that sounds like just about anything you want it to & looks and feels classic plus will never let you down then I suggest you first try and find one used and then oreder a new one.

I am receiving my 2 tone sunburst classic 50`s telecaster and I am totally taken by the beauty of the ashwood-body and the genuine telecaster-sound which I think only an ashwood-body can deliver. Finish and action seem to be fine. I play my guitars through a Fender Frontman 212. Next day my son comes for a visit and he is also taken by the sound and its balance but after trying to tune it to an electronic tuner he finds out that the A and D string are not in tune from the 10th and 12th fret. He`s got to really bend them to reach the octave and it is audible. I must admit that my hearing isn`t great anymore. Since these strings are running on seperate riders along with another string each, we are returning the instrument. We just wonder how it could pass by Mexican quality control. After all, this is supposed to be a Fender and we are paying Fender-price. So I don`t get it.. I`ve got 4 Squiers, 2 Classic vibes Strats and 2 Teles, 1 Thinline and 1 Custom II with P 90s and they are made in China and Indonesia and flawless. My son has an American Gibson LP Studio for several years. All Mail-order. My excitement about the Fender Classic 50s Tele has been seriously reduced. Not sure should I try another Made in Mexico...

Fender has perfected playability, once you play a 52 tele its tough to play anything else cuz they are not replaceable, this made in mexico version shouldnt let anyone down, its not a perfect piece of furnature guitar like some high priced ones but it has major vibe,

So I sent it back and received another 2 tone and I didn`t like the grainpattern of the wood of its body. The intonation wasn`t much better than on the first one, so I got the guys to locate the first one again, got the intonation set up by their pro and I am hahaha-happy ever since. Mind you they said that the intonation on these models cannot be set one hundred percent, but I guess they got fairly close. I got a Marshall MG 212 FX since and I find it very hard to put this Telecaster down and come to dinner. Maybe I`m just lucky and found -the one in a million- but as I said before, the tonal qualities and the balance of the ashwood-body are absolutely outstanding.
Comments about Fender Classic Series '50s Telecaster Electric Guitar:
First off, it's a Telecaster, so that's a plus. Second off, it's an American-made Fender, so that's a plus. Third off, it's single-coil madness, so that's a plus. And fourth off, it's an American-made Fender Telecaster with single-coil madness, which is also a plus! Well, it ain't a Stratocaster, but hey, it's next in line. I'm going to say that this is quite a genius product. For the price it's insane! It's not an American Standard or an American Deluxe but it's darn close. A proffesional overall to say at the least. I don't play country and I still dig this guy. He can put out some crunchy leads for sure! Quite a flexible guitar with a good matching of nearly any playing style (I would have to disagree with any sort of Metal but that's from my point of view). And...it's a Fender, so I don't see what's not to love.

Comments about Fender Classic Series '50s Telecaster Electric Guitar:
There is a reason that the design of the Telecaster has seen very few changes in its nearly 60-year existence, and that reason is that it fulfills the needs of just about every musical niche you can think of (minus heavier rock/metal where humbuckers and active pickups are the norm). I bought this guitar in December, and it plays like a dream (after being set-up like every new guitar should be, of course!). Action out of the box was far too high, but that is an easy fix. Finish, electronics, and everything else was great right out of the box. The stock pickups sound surprisingly good, and they have that great "twang" that only a genuine Telecaster can provide! Highly recommended. Grab yourself one today if at all possible!
Comments about Fender Classic Series '50s Telecaster Electric Guitar:
fenders are not my favorite guitars, the new strats are not very good, i picked up this tele four years ago and it inspires me to play, the neck and fretboard gets me everytime and it sounds very good. not all teles are good, and you must play a fender in person before you buy one because each models playability can be very different.
Comments about Fender Classic Series '50s Telecaster Electric Guitar:
I bought this guitar about a year ago, and I am very pleased with it. I got the blond color and it is absolutely b-e-a-utiful. I replaced the white pickguard with a black one, thinking that it would look better...and it did look good, but the black guard made it look snow white...so I put the original white one back on...that way the nice blonde finish really looks great...the ash woodgrain shows through nicely. The neck is great...plays smooth and the vintage tint really pops against the blonde body. The pickups sound good, but I'm thinking of replacing them with some Lindy Fralins blues specials...the bridge pickup is pretty trebly, but is sounds great through a tube amp if you roll the treble back on the amp and guitar. The neck and middle positions sound very warm and toasty...but I'm gonna have to mod it out...I like the guitar the way it is...it really sounds good...but I'm just not getting the tone that my twisted little brain is craving. This Mexican made tele's craftsmanship is EXCELENTE!! I personally think that it's built better then my American made strat. It just feels so solid in my hands...and I can't find a flaw in it. If you buy it through mail order, check the truss rod when you get it. Every fender guitar I have ever bought via mail order has had a loose truss rod. As with all midrange fenders (or any midrange guitar for that matter) don't expect it to be "set up" right out of the box. The truss rod will need adjusting and the action/intoation will need to be set...but you'll end up with a very nice, quality made guitar. If you want a 50's tele at a GREAT price...this is the only way to go...Great, great instrument.
Comments about Fender Classic Series '50s Telecaster Electric Guitar:
Played this guitar earlier today. All i can say was it was one of the most comfortable guitars i have ever played, finish was amazing (blonde model) and the tone was even better. Only thing i would change is the gaurd because of how heavy i tend to play, other than that it was awesome. Iwould totally buy one if i had the money

got the 01 model, in 2 tone sunburst!!bought it in 2002, change the pickups, the saddles(for brass), the pickguard for a 3 ply in white (W/B/W), and really love this guitar!!it's really a great guitar, a pleasure to play with it
