OVERVIEW

A replica classic brings back the sound of the '70s.

Is just a dream to play!! I've been playing for 25 years plus I've had countless high end guitars that have ranged anywhere from 1000-3200 and this guitar is no exception I've had this guitar now for a little over a month I play the guitar through an axe fx 2 I can't remember the last time I've had this much fun!!You can get some great jazz tones out of this guitar I've found it to be an awesome blues guitar and if your looking for a modern sound it's also there. If your your a little unsure about spending this kind of money on a MIM guitar rest assure this guitar has great build quality, amazing tone, and with a little intonation adjustment it's pretty playable right out of the box. Don't wait any longer the price keeps going up buy one now!!!

I bought this guitar two years ago and have been relatively happy with it. The construction is decent, neck pocket is a little sloppy. The neck is good, back contour is fat, frets are finished decently. The frets are tiny so combined with the small fingerboard radius bending washes out quickly, at about a step and a half. The urethane finish on the back of the neck is very grippy, which is not conducive to position changes. I have an original '72 Thinline as well, and the two are nothing alike. This is not an American instrument and should not be compared. This is not an "easy" guitar to play due to the small frets. I certainly would not recommend this instrument for a beginning player. It needs a string change to 10's and a serious setup done. Electronics, wiring, and connections should be checked and the cavity needs to be shielded with a good ground to the bridge. It's a novel reproduction piece of Fender history but I would recommend going the extra bucks for an American Tele or American Deluxe if you're looking for the dirty Humbucker tone or find a real '72 Thinline if it's gotta be this instrument. As for price, you get what you pay for. This is not a $2500 guitar so don't expect it to play like one!!

Comments about Fender Classic Series '72 Telecaster Thinline Electric Guitar:

Surprised at the excellent quality of this guitar. I was really blown away. I hear from good sources that MIM guitars now have all American parts and are just manufactured in Mexico. The wood is beautiful w/ maple neck and has fantastic tones. It is a rock solid guitar and it plays like butter, AND holds it's tune without any issues. AS with any guitar, get a good set up and you will be a happy camper. Promise !

Comments about Fender Classic Series '72 Telecaster Thinline Electric Guitar:

I have been playing since the 60's and have owned and played many guitars. I have the American Thinline with the widerange humbuckers and the sound is nothing like anything I have played before. In a word I would call it chimey. These are great pickups and with the semi hollow body the thing just rings out. I have the natural finish and the ash is very nicely figured and the neck is very playable. It's very hard to explain the sound but through my Blues Jr it is fantastic for the Blues that I play.

Comments about Fender Classic Series '72 Telecaster Thinline Electric Guitar:

Smooth playability, well constructed. If looking for a less "jangly" tone I suggest a set of flat-wound .12 or lighter. I have the sunburst model and am thinking about replacing the pick guard with a more subdued color than the white one. I bought mine used and though she came without the Allan wrenches and no backpack straps for the gig bag, I am very happy. Now I only need to find the perfect clean amp. Thanks again MF.

Super sound and tone. Great value and craftsmanship.

I did have to have a setup right but other than that it is a super sounding and playing instrument.

Thanks Fender. I have and always will be a "Fender" man.

When I first picked this guitar up I was surprise by its thin neck. I play contemporary gospel with a Jazz sound and this guitar has given me a sound that I have been looking for for years. Its almost like being in a dream world. The neck is superb and the action is so smooth it almost makes me cry when I play it. I think every blues and Jazz guitarist should own one.

A local musician plays a tele. Has a strat as well but the work horse guitat is the tele. I bought the Hollow body version as I heard they were good. I have a "Fender" strat (old one), a SG 335 Classic and am Epiphone Les Paul Pro. I find myself grabbing the tele more than the others. Fun to play and great sound with the Humbuckers. I will say that Musicians Friend was GREAT helping me with this.
