Don't be taken by the price. Compared to other Custom Shop high end guitars, this stacks up. I have several Fender and Gibson Custom Shop as well as Ernie Ball guitars and I must say, all my years of playing my "go to" guitars, this immediately feels like your own... well done Fender, yet again. And remember folks, you get what you pay for so don't compare this guitar to "one your friend made" that's the same but a fraction the price.... Nope!!

My teacher kept on telling me I wouldn't like this guitar because of the "small frets". Screw what he said. This is my dream guitar. felt so good using it.The neck the tone the body just felt right.I've never heard a strat that sounds this good. I just want to get money for it. If you are able to afford this guitar, do not hesitate to do so. You will be fully satisfied.

PINK FLOYD is all I have to say. This guitar is exactly the same guitar as the best guitarist ever David Gilmour played. If you like Pink Floyd and you want a Amazing guitar then you should deffinitly get this. It is worth the money

WOW! Is a good word to describe this babe. I've been playing for 10 years now... and I have NEVER seen anything like this guitar. The pick-ups are a dream. Also when I whamme with it I never feel better! All in all if your a pro and you need an ax... get this one baby!!!

I have a water damage issue, to the case, that is currently working. I can not tell you how pleased that I am with Fender!! These guys are really responsive, and are doing everything that they possibily can. Again, they are VERY responsive, and THAT, means a lot when you are considering an investment like this.Hope that helps if you are still debating.

I have been waiting years for this guitar to be released and its finally here. Not only does this guitar look amazing but it plays like heaven. The neck is fast and smooth and the pickups will give you any pink floyd tone and more, I've only scratched the surface of the possibilities of the beauty. The case it comes with is also top notch having a custom stitched logo along with nearly two feet of storage space. The finish is also amazing, I myself got the NOS and could not be any happier. Sorry if this review is kind of brief and random but I honestly could not list all the great things abut this strat. Bottom line if you love pink floyd, music, and quality their is no better guitar.

Suffice to say, this guitar rocks. The sound capabilities are incredible. I have used the EMG DG-20 before, this actually will replicate his sound to the tee! I can not praise this thing enough. That being said, unless you desire to actually collect it because it is an exact replica of Gilmour's, buy the NOS version. In hindsight, and if I could do it all over agin, I would have went that route, and I AM someone who thinks David is of devine nature. Whether you are an advid Gilmour, or advid Strat lover, this is your guitar!

While a good sounding guitar, for the price its just not worth it. The neck is incredibly thin sounding and doesnt deliver the punch needed.The neck itself is great and was my favorite feature of this guitar, besides the SSL-5 bridge pickup. You are paying for dings and dents. To build a similar guitar would cost less than half. I suggest that if you aren't a collector that you save your money and get something more practical.

I can not tell you how many times I debated this thing. I remember telling my girlfriend, after having an arsenal of guitars "that I am done and would NEVER buy another axe, unless Fender produced a Gilmour model." They did. I did much research, and having been a lifelong Pink Floyd (Syd Barrett) fan I though I knew it all, about this guitar. WOW, was I wrong. The price is a huge turn-off, and was the reason for the debate of should I/shouldn't I? However; I did, and I am VERY happy with it. The miniture toggle switch, which adds the extra pick-up into the mix, and DOES make a HUGE difference in sound. The bridge pick-up is a Seymour Duncan, this is the first Strat that I have ever owned, and/or played, where the sound is VERY obiviously different. If you watch/listne to the New Gilmour DVD, the sound that he has on there, well, that is what your little 5k dollar investment well give you. The guitar also plays very well! It is a little shocking to open up the case and see the condition that this thing is in (I purchased the Relic), but you have to remember that being said, this is (supposed to be) an exact replica of David's number one axe!!I would not hesitate recommending this guitar to anyone, even if you are not a Floyd fan, if you love Strats, you really owe it to yourself to check this out. You will be very impressed. In hindsight I could've very easily had settled for the NOS version, but, me being the Gilmour fan that I am, I had to get the Relic.Unless you live, eat, breathe, and sleep Floyd/Gilmour, definitely go with the NOS version.All of that being said, I am very happy with this guitar and my purchase!! I would also recommend that you read the accompanying Phil Taylor (David's Tech of 30 plus years), I walked away with a whole new respect for David and this guitar. Even though the price of this thing is so high, if you consdier Fender's Custom Shop, and their top of the line products, and the name on this axe, it is a good (and fair price). I also did get mine insured, which I also recommend doing...and above all else...please...be..."Careful With That Axe, Eugene!!'

I bought this guitar with trepidations, usually a guitar made to model a superstars lacks true quality. But this guitar has real clarity and tone, a full bodied sound that has been a pleasure to hear each evening I play it. The neck accommodates the hand beautifully. The various pick-ups add so much varity, usable sounds that are bright and vivid when need be or mellow and moody when desired. I am so happy with this guitar that my other guitars are now collecting dust. There are definately Gilmourish tones to be found in the set-up. If quality and that famous Fender clarity is important to you don't miss out on this amazing achievment produced by the best in the business. I highly recommend investing in this musical masterpiece...I will be playing it until I kick the bucket!...Love it!
