I have owned this guitar for almost a year now and it has become my favorite guitar. I have owned alot of vintage guitars (even a Tadeo Gomez '52 Fender) and this is a remarkably accurate rendition of a mid 50's strat right down to the neck profile and pick up windings. Now not everyone likes the mid-50's boat shaped neck but if it fits your hands it plays like butter. The pickups produce the best clean sound I have ever heard. Rings like a bell with amazing harmonic content. Played thru an old Fender tweed or brown amp and you will understand why Leo Fender is considered by most to be a true genius.
You get what you pay for and this holds true with this guitar. It may cost you more but its worth every penny. It has great tone and plays like a strat should. If you are looking for a higher end guitar you need to take a look at this one, you won't be disappointed
I played it a few times in a music store. WOW what a great instrument! It is perfect is all the ways except one little thing. The low E strings is easy to bend out while playing. I dont know if it supposed to be like that or if it was just some factory error. What I love the most is the vintage tones you get out of the pickups. Rock on!!!
I have been playing for 10 years. I own 4 strats and this one blows all my other strats away. The tone on this guitar is simply amazing. Every pick up sounds awesome. Neck has a clean bassy sound, middle is nice for some clean blues, and the bridge is my favorite, a twangy crystal clear sound perfect for jazz, ska, some blues. I also played this strat with distortion and the neck pick up sounds muddy but the middle and bridge pickups sound great. Not really for metal but still sounds great for some classic rock. The paint job on this is amazing. I got the 2 tone sunburst and all I could say was "wow" when I saw it. Beautiful thin nitrocellulose paint job. Neck is very comfortable, frets are nice and small just the way I like them. Overall a flawless guitar. It does everything I wanted it to do and more. I never though of spending this much on a guitar but now that I did, I realized that you do get what you pay for. I never played an original 56 but if this is what they sound like then I now know why everyone raves about pre 65 strats.
An excellent reissue of a vintage strat.
