OVERVIEW

A near clone of Rory's famous battle-worn Strat.

Fender Custom Shop designers met Donal Gallagher, brother of late great guitarist Rory Gallagher, in Los Angeles in 1997 and received one of the most coveted guitars of all time - Gallagher's heavily worn 1961 Stratocaster guitar. Fender initially built 40 replicas for European sale, but was subsequently besieged with requests for more. The Rory Gallagher Tribute Stratocaster guitar is an exact replica of that revered instrument, down to the extremely worn Three-color Sunburst alder body, maple neck and rosewood fingerboard. It even has five Sperzel tuners and one Gotoh tuner, and the 12th-fret dot marker is white plastic rather than the original clay. It also features three custom-wound '60s single-coil pickups, aged chrome hardware, 21 jumbo frets and a bone nut. Fender includes a case with the Rory Gallagher Signature Electric Guitar.

Comments about Fender Custom Shop Rory Gallagher Signature Electric Guitar:

I picked one up used(2011)and it was like brand new, the guy never took the tremolo arm out of the bag. I was worried about neck size on this because my hands aren't that big. Let me tell you people who are worrying about this which seems to always come up in all the Rory guitar websites, the neck on this model is slim and slender, just a fantastic player, I can hook my thumb over the low E with ease. The tones on this are just pure classic strat(I'm playing through a Fender Supersonic, fantastic amp). It's a lot of money but it is definitely worth it. All of the haters who hate relics and fake wear should try this one, the tones just pour out of it. It's a tribute to a master and I'm proud to own it, very inspiring to play. And once again great neck, you won't be sorry, pro quality.

Comments about Fender Custom Shop Rory Gallagher Signature Electric Guitar:

I have some Am Strats and LPs. I just played a Rory at a music shop next to a Clapton Strat. No comparison. Once I got the Rory tuned, I couldn't put it down. It sounded fantastic, intonated wonderfully and was a joy to play. Don't know if it was due to being a Custom model, or a 61 Custom, or a Rory, but it's the best Strat I have EVER played.

Comments about Fender Custom Shop Rory Gallagher Signature Electric Guitar:

Bought 10 years ago(made in 2003).. I own 6 strats and this the best! Resonate and just inspirational. Not many made. Probably the 2nd best Strat player ever played this guitar and it was painstakingly reproduced. Comes set up for slide and I lowered the strings as I have a light touch with the slide.
Pick ups are vintage you can grab every tone. Neck is slightly thin but you feel every note and get great sustain and feedback. Blues and rock are it's heritage and you are covered with the RG forever!
Rory was a consummate devotee to tone and this guitar lost its paint in the rain after being stolen and tossed into a ditch. Once it dried out it sang and inspired and for me it still does!

I saw this Axe at a guitar show about three yrs ago. It caught my attention becaused it looked like "hell". To my suprise it flat out played. The neck was awesome, sounded great. But c'monit's a Strat and in my opinion anything over $1,500 for a Fender is just too much, even though it has that "Rory" vibe. Check it out and you decide
