Good starter kit

Features:

I'm a new guitar player so I don't have a lot of experience with various brands. That's why I chose Fender. After reading a few reviews online I went with this one based on price and brand. The tone is great, and it stays in tune very well. Intonation seems good but I've only been playing it for two weeks.

Quality:

The finish and hardware are very nice for the money. If I had to look for an accoustic guitar again I would go to my local guitar shop though. I see other reviews that say better playing guitars are out there for the same money.

Value:

At the end of the day, it comes down to how does this guitar feels and sounds. It looks like a more expensive model but plays like a $200 guitar. Remember, I'm a beginner and haven't had much experience with accoustic instruments!

Overall:

After you learn your open chords on this guitar you may find yourself struggling to play anything else. The action is just a bit too high and with no truss rod it's just a matter of time before this guitar ends up at a yard sale. It's really a shame since it carries the Fender name. That being said, it does have a nice tone and looks great, but as a long term buy it just doesn't seem to have the kind of playability that I feel is needed to keep me interested for years to come.

This was my first guitar.  I have loved it and as a beginner I found the guitar tuner to be very helpful.  If you are only interested in the guitar itself, I have been much more impressed with Rogue guitars for the price range, but this guitar is not at all a bad buy.

I bought this guitar with hopes of having a second guitar to just beat around and play when I don't want my martin to get destroyed. This had potential to be that, but the neck was unplayable(even after a pro setup) and the sound was okay at best. There are much better guitars out there for 199.99. Even for a beginner I probably wouldn't reccomend this. I would tell that person to go get a used Breedlove passport. Much better guitars for the same price.

A beginners-only guitar

This is an okay guitar to learn on and it was my first guitar but it has a terrible sound and action. I tried lowering the action and the neck cracked right away and so did one of the strings. I would suggest beginners only use it and experienced musicians use the taylors and martins.
