This is my favorite Strat. I've read other reviews on this guitar and maybe, just maybe I received the "lucky one". As far as the factory set-up, I had to change it to my taste which is normal for any guitar no matter where its made or what price you paid. Lucky for me I'm a professional luthier and I didn't have to pay to get it done. I don't like expensive guitars because I play out for a living and guitars get beaten up very quickly in my hands. I have an American Deluxe Ash Stratocaster that sounds awesome but I don't like playing it live because I have a tendency to "baby" it too much and that affects my playing. I'm too careful with it and it makes me play like a wuss for fear of damaging it. So I wanted a cheap road Strat. I love the Highway One strats but I always up-grade them with Vintage Noiseless Pick-ups and that would put me in thehigher price range and I didn't want to spend that much. Plus, I absolutely love the sound of Ash bodies with Maple necks. Then I saw this one, Ash body, Maple Neck, and Vintage Noiseless Pick-ups for this price. No way! I bought it and I'm happy I did. Why would I buy a Mexican made Stratocaster? Because it's a huge savings and the quality is just as good. Wait! I'll repeat that: JUST AS GOOD! And I know quality, I've been playing Strats exclusively for the last 18 years and I've been repairing guitars for 27 years now. I know quality. This guitar sounds, sustains, and resonates better than my American Deluxe Ash Stratocaster that cost me a lot more. So guess what, I'm selling my American and buying a Highway One, some Vintage Noiseless Pick-ups, and I'll have money left over for another Fender NOS Blues Jr. Tube Amp. Bottom line - AWESOME GUITAR. Or maybe I was just the lucky one.

This is a good MIM guitar with special features Ash body, noiseless pup and a decent neck but not rolled edges. I can not recommend this guitar with great enthusiasm however. I tend to like the Roadhouse and the players deluxe alot more for their pups and look. I would tell the readeer here to shop and check them out and of course the name of the guitar is less important.

This Guitar Is All About Explanation Points!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

By LonMon

from Armpit of America

Comments about Fender FSR Standard Ash Stratocaster with Vintage Noiseless Pickups Electric Guitar:

This FSR Standard Ash Stratocaster with Vintage Noiseless Pickups is such a beautiful and well made instrument that I'd put it up against any non-Custom Shop Strat out there. In fact, I joke that the Mexican factory must be pulling for their own Custom Shop! Well if this is an example of what they can do, I say let 'em have one!

By the way, I was so impressed with this guitar I also bought the Butterscotch Blonde Telecaster version and it's 98% as good! The only difference is the fretboard isn't quite as nicely done... But the frets are!
Gorgeously grained and very light single piece Ash body!Beautiful color combination with semi- transparent White Blonde body and Mint pickgaurd!Fantastic fret work and rolled fretboard edges!Vintage tint neck; glossier than regular satin, but not too glossy--just right!Second tone knob wired for mid and bridge pick-ups!Perfect intonation out of the box! (a 1st in 30 years for me!)

Everything was flawless except the G string nut cut was a tad tight causing a slight bell-like ring on upward bends only. No biggy, Big Bends Nut Sauce has taken care of it. I'll trim it later.
This is the most amazing part. I got it as an open box used Level 1! Ho Boy!

Seriously though, I'll never sell this guitar because it would cost too much to replace it's build quality.

Great & Quality Guitar

Comments about Fender FSR Standard Ash Stratocaster with Vintage Noiseless Pickups Electric Guitar:

Keep in mind I own an American deluxe ash strat which costs about 3 times the amount. This guitar comes pretty close in quality if not better in some respects. The resonance on this guitar are extremely good, the guitar loves to ring due to the big trem block and satin neck finish. I also own an American natural ash strat w/maple neck, this guitar is right there in quality once again. Before I decide to keep any guitar I have my guitar tech gives it the once over. Well he loved the guitar and has nothing bad to say about the Mexican strats, in fact he states nothing but good things to say about them. The only con I see on this guitar is the resale value being that the neck says made in Mexico. So I plan making this guitar is a difinate keeper and play the heck out of it without the care of a American deluxe ash Strat.
Ash body, maple neck with satin finish on back on on the fret board, mint pickquard, American vintage noiseless pickups. Wood grains come through beautifully on the vintage white paint on the body and also a big block tremelo.

Expensive for a MIM Strat

By Anonymous

Comments about Fender FSR Standard Ash Stratocaster with Vintage Noiseless Pickups Electric Guitar:

I almost bought this guitar but it was really too expensive for a MIM strat. I like the Players strat for a C note less or the Hywy MIA strat for the same price. I have played it and the noiseless pickups are not worth the two hundred dollar difference. I actually control the 60 hum very easily with the volume knob....how about that!

A Standard Strat that rivals an American Signature

By DJLUq1ESv

from Undisclosed

Comments about Fender FSR Standard Ash Stratocaster with Vintage Noiseless Pickups Electric Guitar:

I keep this concise. Beautiful Guitar, White Blonde with mint green looks stunning!!!Sure it has some very minor fit and finish flaws, but so did my American made Eric Clapton Signature Strat. Neck is smooth and straight and frets were beautifully done.Neck pocket pretty good, a little off, but more than acceptableNut is cut a bit oddly but playability and string fitment not affected. No fret buzz and the intonation is 98% spot on. Even after delayed shipping in the freezing cold Blizzard of 2011. Very little setup was done on my part.Tone and response is awesome, right on par with my EC Signature Strat. Mercy, dare I say an even warmer tone. (No big suprise here since it has an Ash body and the same vintage noisless pups as in my EC sig). POINT BLANK: Darn good, and I'm pretty impressed. I just learned that a $500 guitar can be just as good a $1600 one. Im set! Also, if you want flawless guality I guess you need a custom shop/master builder guitar. But if you want great tone, good quality, and smooth playability, all you need is this white blonde noiseless fsr. Dare I say this, if it came down to it, my EC strat would be sold first for the cash, cause this guitar is a great replacement - No exaggeration!

The Strat I've been looking for.

By YFQ8BBiwJ

from Sanger, Tx

Comments about Fender FSR Standard Ash Stratocaster with Vintage Noiseless Pickups Electric Guitar:

I've had my Strat now for maybe three weeks. The white blond caught my eye right away. I normally would hardly ever pick up a standard but I did and was totally blowed away! The first strum of an E chord and I knew this was a special guitar. I like a certain sound with my strats and this one came close on each. It has an almost Tele like bridge position witch I love. Next the in between was as good as I've heard. The middle pick up is the best I've heard. #4 was my least favorite but then it pretty much is on all strats, (for me), I am liking it more though. The neck is not quite as good as I've played but dang close. I can hardly stop playing it. Running it through various Fender amps, mainly a Deluxe and a Champion 25, (this little amp should get a lot more reviews and as an arm chair amp on low volumn it nails the Fender sound. Not really great for anything else though). Ok, this has been addressed above: I don't believe this guitar was really inspected before leaving the factory. As said above only three springs, Whenever I would bend a string the whole string block would move and out of tune she would be. Also the low E was lower than all the other strings. I had a professional set up done. The neck was twisted and came close to having to be heat treated. Lucked out and they got it back. Put on two more springs and had the block screws tightened a bit. Added some Ernie Ball 10's and it is perfect now. Everywhere I take it, as was again said above, I get compliments on how it sounds and looks. I've owned many strats, American, standard and this is the best sounding one bar none. I did play a couple more FSR later and they did not sound as good as mine. You need to play a few. One more thing, it is a bit heavier than what I'm used to but I'm getting used to that. Great guitar!

nice

By cgg

Comments about Fender FSR Standard Ash Stratocaster with Vintage Noiseless Pickups Electric Guitar:

The guitar is nice. The white color with mint pick guard makes it very nice to look at. The sound is solid and holds the tone very well. Distorted it is mean. With no distortion, it has a bright ring to it and is really smooth to play. The neck is comfortable, though I wish it was thinner like a Charvel. Still it is fast and the jumbo frets are friendly. The three dial setup is easy to learn and tuning stays regardless of how much bending you do. The pick guard was not perfect. It had very minor flaws. The switch lever has a solid feel to it and stays clean from dust. The tremolo is a real winner. I do like the versatility of it; however, I do recommend not to over tightening it. I would recommend it for any level and any style of playing. It?s a good buy.

got it brand new and it plays like a champ right out of the box, its crazy the variety of tones you can pull out of it from soft smooth sounding to bright sharp funky aggressive. the noiseless pickups are a total bonus especially for recording and theres definitely no lack of soul in this guitar.

Fender FSR Stratocaster

Comments about Fender FSR Standard Ash Stratocaster with Vintage Noiseless Pickups Electric Guitar:

First of all, the neck and body of this guitar are beautiful. The Noiseless pups are very good complete with the prerequisite ?spank and quack? with no noise. That being said, the factory set up left something to be desired. The palm mangler Allen screws on the bridge are worse than ever! When will Fender ever address this issue? The tremolo inertia block only came with three springs, coupled with a set of factory installed 009?s, that?s a recipe for tuning disaster. The guitar was supposed to come with a set of Fender Super Bullets on it..it did not. So, after installing a set of Graph Tech saddles, Fender/Schaller locking tuners, and two more tremolo block springs, (along with a set of Ernie Ball 010?s) I know have a guitar that?s as good, if not better than a Fender American made Strat.

Nice Guitar with a little set up

By Soul Easy

from Hanover, PA

Comments about Fender FSR Standard Ash Stratocaster with Vintage Noiseless Pickups Electric Guitar:

Sweet guitar for the price and the blonde finish is awesome. Lots of comments on the visual with the mint pick guard. Now some useful information. Set up is the key for any guitar and this one is no different. If you can't do it yourself, take it in and have it set up for your style. The tone, quality etc is awesome. I had to make some set up adjustments to lower action, get rid of some of the buzz. Change the strings!!! I use DM 110 on all my guitars so that I can switch from one to the other and have the same feeling.I did swap out the saddle on the Low E to a solid smooth saddle. I tend to play with my palm back on the saddle and the adjustment screw on the standard saddle is high which starts to rub your palm. I have done this with all my Strats. Its the little things. The tone is bright through a fender deluxe and the pick ups are quiet. Great guitar for the price, I could play against my American standard and the average joe would be hard pressed to hear the difference. I buy based on price and playability and this one is a keeper.
