Received my new Thinline Jaguar on 8-29-2013 from M.F. As with all my purchases from them, service was secomd to none. I bought the black and chrome model and never looked back. Awesome
sound through Fender Blues Reissue amp. Guitar
set-up was good right out of the box. The vers-
atility of this ax is unbelievable. The shorter
24" scale and the 7.25" neck radius complement
each other and make for easier playing up and
down the entire neck. As far as the bridge goes,
I purchased a set of string saver saddles from M.F. and will install them when I do my first string change. The finish and all appointments
on this made in Japan beauty are gorgeous. If you're looking for a quality guitar that has twang, bite, attack and growl, consider the Thinline Fender Jaguar.

I think most people will be attracted to this guitar because of it's stunning looks, which is fine...guitars are supposed to look cool!

I love this guitar, but had to give it only 3 stars because of the dreadful amount of noise emanating from it's pickups. Other on-line reviews of this axe will tell you the same thing; while the pickups sound pretty good, they have no potting or shielding and the amount of single coil hum is difficult to manage, especially if using any gain. I'll be replacing the pickups for something hotter soon.

Otherwise, I REALLY love the wide-oval neck profile, the easy playability of it's 24" scale, and the vintage-size fret wire. Chording up and down the neck is really great, like playing a jazz guitar.

The guitar came strung and set up for 10 gauge strings, which I recommend changing immediately. Many who complain about the Jag's infamous bridge issues just don't understand that the guitar is intended for heavier gauge strings, like 11s or even 12s. I immediately strung it up with 11 gauge flat-wounds, and haven't looked back.

Comments about Fender Special Edition Jaguar Thinline Electric Guitar:

I have an older Tele TL and have always liked their sound but, I did have a small concern with how this would feel/sound as a Jag Thinline. I received the guitar and let it warm up to room temp and then plugged it in to try it, I wasn't disappointed. The string height was a tiny bit higher then I like but that is more of a personnal preference and even so, it played fantastic all across the neck. The feel is very nice (for me) and all the controls are easy to change on the fly when playing. The sound of a Jaguar is right there but with a more airy-open sound that really makes this unique in it's own right. The Black finish simply gleems when under the lights and to this point it holds a tune very good without one string or another going flat or sharp. I think Fender did a real good job with this, not great but, really good. I bought a hard case right away for it as it did not come with even a Gig Bag, this did surprise me, otherwise, real nice guitar, a keeper for me and I would recommend it..

Comments about Fender Special Edition Jaguar Thinline Electric Guitar:

This guitar was sweet right out of the box. It was already set up well when I got it and it plays so smoothly. It gets a nice warmth from the semi-hollow body which even sounds great when it's not plugged in. I knew it was going to be nice when I ordered it but I was a little concerned that I would have to make adjustments and alterations based on common complaints about jaguars. I don't have any issues with strings popping out of the saddles or buzz from the bridge (easily fixable with saddle adjustments instead of swapping out the jaguar bridge). And contrary to popular belief this guitar gets pretty good sustain even when bending notes. However, I do wish they had found a way to make the tremolo arm more stable instead of relying on it swinging and resting on the input jack. My only other issue is that for a special edition, and considering the price, this should have come with a nice hard case or, at the very least, a gig bag.

Comments about Fender Special Edition Jaguar Thinline Electric Guitar:

One---Awesome---Guitar! I use to own a 1964 Jaguar but stupidly sold it. I have many Strat's, Tele's, one Gibson, and a couple Epi's. None compare to this guitar. I have fairly small hands and small fingers, I'm able to play those other for mentioned guitars but the Fender Jaguar is top notch. To me it sounds better, and plays better. Someone who has never played one doesn't know what they're missing period. Don't let them little switches get you confused, just set a couple of them and go for it.

Comments about Fender Special Edition Jaguar Thinline Electric Guitar:

this guitar is very difficult to describe. it is one of the coolest guitars, and the craftsmanship is good. however, due to its design, this guitar is NOT good for playing cool leads or bending of any kind.... the neck will choke out the notes, even when adjusted higher... and the bridge is very very finicky...

if you like playing chords, and rhythm, this is one cool guitar...guitarists playing lead style... ought to look at other models..

Comments about Fender Special Edition Jaguar Thinline Electric Guitar:

I'm just as excited about this guitar as most of the other commentators, so I'll skip directly to its most common complaint... The bridge.

I have 2 Jaguars and 3 Jazzmasters, and this is the best fix I've found yet...

Rather than switch bridges, simply find the best groove in each barrel for your playing and deepen it with a file while keeping the notch as close to the string's width as possible. Just don't get carried away and file the notches too deep at first. A little at a time is best. Once you have them deep enough, reset the barrel heights and intonation. Hope this helps.
