When you play this renowned single-cutaway, there's no doubt you'll be ready to rock. Boasting a classic design with exceptional playability, the Monterey accentuates the recognizable shape of musical history but with modern touches added for the uncompromising player. The Monterey Elite features a carved 5-A Canadian flame maple top, mahogany body and tapered set-neck, Locking tuners, Graph Tech Trem Nut, and Tune-O-Matic-style bridge. This model also boasts abalone binding and trapezoid inlays in an ebony 22-fret fingerboard, gold hardware, and brings the power of infinite sustain with a Fernandes Sustainer in the guitar's neck position.
Fernandes Sustainer
The patented Fernandes Sustainer system generates a magnetic field causing the strings to vibrate endlessly, giving you creative ways to control sustain and feedback. Used by Steve Vai, The Edge, Slash, Kerry King, Neil Schon, Robert Fripp, and Paul Gilbert, the Sustainer allows you to produce silky smooth Hendrix-like textures and tonal colorings at any volume level without extra outboard gear. The Sustainer lets you add swells or a gradual decay to single notes or chords while performing outrageous hammer-on slides, whammy-bar dive bombing, or two-hand tapping.

I've had mine now for 2 months. I have 3 other guitars and this is my favorite. The intonation after altering one of the saddle springs is right on. The tone is fantastic. The instrument just feels right in my hands. The sustainer is a added bonus. Just a tip from Fernandes you must unplug your cable completely from the guitar to preserve battery life.

I've owned this guitar for a few weeks and have been playing it a lot. It plays real nice right out of the box.The neck is real slim and smooth. The cosmetics of this guitar is awesome, looks and plays like it should cost more than it does. The locking tuners seem to be doing there job, this guitar stays in tune very well. Sounds like a cross between a lespaul and a SG.The Sustainer is really cool. I also bought the fernandes hardshell case, which is nicer than my lespaul case. If you?re thinking about buying one of these, than do it. This is a lot of guitar for the money.
