Comments about Gibson 2014 Les Paul Studio Pro Electric Guitar:

This is a really nice guitar. Solid sound and what you would expect a Gibson Guitar to sound like. A lot of people pay the high end money for a R7 or R9, but if you can't afford that the deal on this Guitar is unbeatable. The old school case is nice and fits the Guitar perfectly. I really like the look without the binding and PU's are everything you read about. The neck is fast and makes the guitar easy to play. Get one while you can. There is nothing bad to say about this Guitar or the deal I got through MF. Thanks!

Comments about Gibson 2014 Les Paul Studio Pro Electric Guitar:

This guitar is hands down the best guitar I own. It came set up extremely well from the factory. Decently fast action. NO fret buzz. My only complaint is how dry the fretboard was. A little Dunlop fretboard conditioner took care of that though. If you want a Les Paul but don't want to drop $2500-$10000 this is a great guitar. The only difference between this studio pro and a "higher end" model is the lack of body and neck binding and gold hardware for the most part. Beautiful wood and finish. The pickups are very versatile and powerful. The case is a big plus too. So,basically, if you want a Les Paul but don't care about all the "bling", this is your best bet. You won't be sorry.

P.S. Yes. You will want to change the strings as soon as you get it. They may be good strings but by the time you receive the guitar they will be a little dull in tone

Comments about Gibson 2014 Les Paul Studio Pro Electric Guitar:

Great guitar, only complaint is bridge vol. has noise when coil is tapped and you turn up while a note is sounding. Great finish, great pickups, light weight, nice case, and the neck feels really good.

Comments about Gibson 2014 Les Paul Studio Pro Electric Guitar:

Overall a very nice product. The only con is the Gibson Quick Connect system for the pickups. It makes it very hard to change out to a pickup you prefer without cutting the cable/connector off the existing one. Not a big deal unless you ever want to put it back to the original setup. I found the connectors/pigtail online (Gibson does not sell them) and made my own but it was not an easy task.

Comments about Gibson 2014 Les Paul Studio Pro Electric Guitar:

Before this guitar I just had an Epiphone Les Paul Standard, which is a pretty good guitar. But this one... Man, is it amazing! Even its finish smell gets me excited to play. The coil taps are a great addition to it, allowing you to get very nice tones, although it isn't Fender single coil tone. Using them as humbuckers, you will find this pair of pickups very hot! I play a wide range of styles, and this guitar delivers great cleans and distorted sounds. I really am in love with this guitar and think I'll be like this for a while!

The strings are average at best, and the factory set up didn't hold up. After minor tweeking, the guitar, is everything I expected and more..... Thanks GIBSON !

Comments about Gibson 2014 Les Paul Studio Pro Electric Guitar:

When the 2014 Gibson Les Paul Studio Pro in Fireburst was discontinued in October, I knew I had to move fast. I found a Level 2 used axe on eBay that very day from a reputable dealer and I bought it. It is very pretty, the guitar of my dreams. The AA maple top is as described and the candy finish glitters just slightly. Everyone knows that Gibson still has issues with finish quality and my Fireburst is no exception. Some of the clear lacquer around the neck is a little bubbly but I can ignore that.

Now that I have set it up the way I prefer, here are my observations: This is not my first Gibson Les Paul, and the weight relieved body tends to muffle the highs, compared to a slab body Les Paul Junior Special that I own. This is MOST noticeable to me. The coil splitting is Ok, but to me it is a gimmick, not necessary for my playing style but it gives a couple of tonal variances if you want them. I have been experimenting with the push pull knobs and I admit there are possibilities.

There is no self-tuning stuff on this model (mini tune; G force tuners) and I am very glad of that.

Playing wired through a Joyo vintage overdrive and a Phase 90, into a Vox 15 watt tuber, I love the sounds this axe makes. It is definitely a keeper. My overdrive stomp box kicks the high frequencies to where I can wail like Billy Gib, which isn't easy for me.

My advice is: "Get one while you can." Some of the finishes are still available new, but don't wait too long.
