OVERVIEW

A gorgeous new model loaded with Gibson archtop tradition.

The ES-275 Figured takes a timeless new design from Gibson Memphis and dresses it in the luxurious look of figured maple top and back. The exotic woods featured in an L-5-inspired medium-depth body are complemented by pearl block markers in a dark Richlite fingerboard, multi-ply body and neck binding, gold-plated hardware including a stylish Zig-Zag trapeze tailpiece, and an ES-355-style headstock. The guitar includes a tubeless Historic truss rod, PAF-style MHS pickups, rolled fingerboard binding, ABR-1 bridge with titanium saddles, a genuine bone nut and more.

Compared to the L-5 CES, the width and length of the ES-275 have been reduced about 10% and the depth by about 40%. The result still has the full, shapely appeal of the classic Gibson jazz guitars, but in a size that’s more comfortable to put your arms around. The smaller body also gives easier access to the additional 2 frets.

The pots are high quality 500K CTS pots with a .015 mfd for the neck pickup, which doesn’t cut as much of the treble response and makes the sound warm and vocal instead of muddy. Includes hardshell case.

Fully hollow archtop: The ES-275 is inspired by the L-5 shape, yet is more compact, with a 2-inch depth to its fully hollow body
Elegant inlays: Pearl block inlays tie the ES-275 Figured to other top-of-the-line Gibsons like the ES-355
Figured top and back: A beautifully figured maple top and back add visual appeal to this elegant archtop
Rolled fingerboard binding: By "rolling" or "breaking" the binding at the fingerboard edge you experience a softer playing feel
Historic truss rod: The historic truss rod has no tube, a proven known to enhance the guitar's resonance and sustain
MHS pickups: The best PAF reproductions yet, the MHS humbuckers present superb sonic depth with outstanding character and clarity
Titanium bridge saddles: The Zig-Zag tailpiece reflects other historic high-end archtops, while titanium saddles add clarity to the guitar's tone
High-gloss nitro finish: A hand-sprayed high-gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finish brings out the true beauty of the ES-275 Figured

Comments about Gibson 2016 ES-275 Figured Hollowbody Electric Guitar:

I love the feel of Ibanez, and Epiphone archtops, but the sound of those cheaper guitars never really delivers like a Gibson. This guitar is perfect for me. Not too bulky and the neck fits my small hands. Gorgeous tone. It's like a small L5.

Comments about Gibson 2016 ES-275 Figured Hollowbody Electric Guitar:

I discovered the ES-275 by accident at a boutique guitar store that caters to jazz musicians (wide selection of jazz boxes). The purpose of my visit was to purchase an Ibanez GB10, however, while test driving the Ibanez, I noticed the ES-275 (a new arrival to the store). I fell in love with the ES-275! For me, it just covers all the bases very well. I love the feel of the neck and the extra room to reach the upper registers; the tone is as good or better than the GB10; the smaller body size is very comfortable and makes it a pleasure to play; and the Montreux Burst finish is simply beautiful. I had my guitar tech set it up with 12 flats and it yields a very warm jazz tone - just what I was looking for. My Gibson Byrdland is now for sale, as the ES-275 has permanently taken it's place. Lastly, I also play an ES-335, Johnny A, Les Paul, Strat (not solely a jazz guitarist), and switching to the ES-275 is a very smooth transition, since the neck is basically a Les Paul neck -- works for me!

Comments about Gibson 2016 ES-275 Figured Hollowbody Electric Guitar:

A great new model from Gibson, combining a reduced size L5 body shape with a 59' style Les Paul neck and fret access. These new humbuckers sound wonderful and cover everything from country to jazz. A beautiful guitar that is a joy to play.

Comments about Gibson 2016 ES-275 Figured Hollowbody Electric Guitar:

Great tone. Very light weight and super comfortable to play. Neck is just a bit more slender than usual. Feels fantastic. The pickup selector is cool, different than more gibsons. Great looking, beautiful guitar. Played fantastically out of the box, no additional setup needed.
