Comments about Gibson 2017 J-15 Slope Shoulder Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I am not a performer and only play as a form of brain development and self amusement.

The Gibson J-15 was a disappointment due to three cosmetic imperfections. I sent it back and am debating whether I want to replace it with the same brand and model.

The guitar had good expression with a brighter tone, verging on tinny, than either of my rosewood or mahogany guitars.

I want to buy a guitar made in the U.S.A. The guitars I have bought from China and Indonesia are put together beautifully. I am willing to pay more for a U.S.A. model, but expect equal quality.

Comments about Gibson 2017 J-15 Slope Shoulder Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I love this guitar. I am a former taylor player. I never knew a guitar could have such great bass response while still remaining bright and clear. This guitar sounds wonderful unplugged and through a PA. My only gripe is that I had to buy a strap thing that compensated for no strap peg. Otherwise this guitar sounds as good as a 45 at a good price (for a Gibson ;) ) I thought the lack of eq control would be annoying BUT the L.R. Bagg on this thing is magnificent. The fretboard on the 2017 is far superior to the 2016. The 16 was sharp and painful while the 17 is smooth and comfortable. The neck feels like a slim tapered 60s Gibson neck. Gibson did a great job upgrading the qc of the 2017 j-15s.

Comments about Gibson 2017 J-15 Slope Shoulder Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I bought one and Gibson is not a guitar I'd pick up and wasn't even looking to buy but found one that was more that I could imagine. I love walnut but the guitar was something I couldn't do without. I play bluegrass and this guitar is not a bluegrass guitar. LOL I got sounds out of it that inspired me. I've been playing all of my life and buy nothing but high end guitars. I might have got lucky but Gibson did it up right.
