Right friggin' on! This axe sits perfectly balanced when you let go of the neck, like a good Gibson(or V-shaped axe) should, not the least bit top-heavy. The stock pickups on this thing scream like a hot Seymour Duncans, very thick and optimal for overdriving. I'm used to Les Pauls, so I found the minimalist controls(only one volume, one tone)to be my only complaint. Aside from that, this guitar begs to be thrashed and has put all my other guitars on hold for the moment. Gibson did a killer reissue!(the case they included is just amazing)
I purchased this guitar and I am very pleased with it. It is a beautiful guitar to look at. It is light and easy to play. The fit and finish is superb on this guitar, very little set up was required to get it into playing shape. The only thing I can say negatively about this product is the case. I had the guitar for 9 days and took it to 3 gigs and the guitar case handle pulled right out of the body of the case. I am now left with a guitar case that does not have a handle. I am going to have to jury rig something to be able to carry the guitar around. Other than that, I would highly recommend this guitar.
I love this guitar, even if it is a little pricey. The nitro finish is awesome and an ebony fretboard is like icing on the cake. Its fun to play and the silverburst finish looks sweet. Out of the box action kicks ass! If your into Metal, this guitar is perfect for all your thrashing needs!
At this price this guitar is a steal. This is one great looking and mean playing axe. From blues to metal, this guitar has all of the bases covered. It sounds wonderful through my Marshall Vintage modern.
Another fine quality product from Gibson. Great value for such a fine instrument.
