OVERVIEW

A sweet and simple classic version of the Les Paul.

The Gibson Les Paul Junior Single Cutaway Electric Guitar was introduced in 1957 as an economy version of the Les Paul Guitar. It featured the same mahogany construction as its more expensive counterpart, but with a flat top and a single pickup. A lot of players preferred the simplicity of the Les Paul Junior over the more elaborate Standard and Custom models. This Gibson Custom Shop re-creation has fine tone, playing action, and performance. Gibson includes a hardshell case with the 1957 Les Paul Junior Guitar.

Gibson's Custom Shop produces some of the finest electric guitars on earth. Using the best materials money can buy, a staff of skilled luthiers reproduce some of the greatest Gibsons of the past and create stunning new instruments for players and collectors who demand the best.

Serious Mojo

Comments about Gibson Custom 1957 Les Paul Junior Single Cutaway Electric Guitar:

So here's the deal, some folks just don't "get" what the Junior is all about and these are the folks leaving negative comments, most likely the shredder crowd. You either understand the allure of a Junior or you don't. My guess is that the people that are complaining have never even played one of these. This is an amazing guitar, one of my favorites in my collection. It gets far more play time that my Les Paul Custom. If you dig a Junior this is the ticket. I have the non Custom shop Junior as well and while it's a very cool guitar for the money, there is no comparison between it and this model. The Custom is easily worth the extra money.
It's a Jr., part of it's charm is it's simplicity. It's got everything a Jr. should have.
This is one well built guitar, nice light body and the fit and finish is superb. The tone is just amazing and it plays like a dream. The way this guitar sustains I'm assuming it's a long tenon. Love the size of the neck, just big enough but not huge like my VOS Single Cut Special.
This is pretty subjective I guess. Lots of folks feel Custom Shop Gibson's are over priced, but this is my 3rd custom shop and I think they're worth every penny. It costs about 3 1/2 times more than my non Custom Shop Jr. and it's 10 times the guitar so to me that's a good value.

Forget the hype!!

Comments about Gibson Custom 1957 Les Paul Junior Single Cutaway Electric Guitar:

What is this really? A slab of wood with a standard gibson p90 on it with lots of hype about the original which by the way was a cheapo discount 50 dollar guitar, save your money buy something you can really use! Ps I think most of these glowing reviews of these overpriced Gibby"s are written by in house people!

Great Guitar

Comments about Gibson Custom 1957 Les Paul Junior Single Cutaway Electric Guitar:

One of the sweetest guitars I own. Lacks tons of features found on modern guitars but it doesn't matter, the tone makes up for it. Plays like a dream too. Gibson's P90 are raunchy and sound incredible. If you're going for a vintage sound and feel, this covers all bases. Perfect for rock, blues, country, even jazz with the tone rolled off. Truly amazing instrument.

My Favorite Guitar In The World

By Junior-cYand

Comments about Gibson Custom 1957 Les Paul Junior Single Cutaway Electric Guitar:

I bought one of these yesterday and it is simply the funnest guitar I have ever played. The fat 50's style neck is awesome to play on. This whole guitar feels so comfortable. I understand that there is only one pickup, volume and tone knob, but you go into this guitar knowing that, so I have to give it a five for "features"... because this thing roars. I did a comparison between this guitar and my Gibson Les Paul Goldtop with Lollar P90's through my Fender '59 Bassman and it absolutely KILLED the Goldtop - without question to anyone I did that for. Pair this guitar with a good tube amp and you will find it hard to be more satisfied. But this guitar.

Comments about Gibson Custom 1957 Les Paul Junior Single Cutaway Electric Guitar:

It simply does not have any features, but then thats not why anyone should buy a LP JR. Get it for total stage madness and the sweetest sound there is.
