Whooooaaaaaaaaa!!!!!! What an axe. Sound, art and beauty, all at once???? You bet!!! I cannot express what an honour it is to own this gorgeous work of art and sound. I am verrrrry fortunate to be able to own one. This is not an axe you can just go to any music store and test drive, but, if you like the Les Paul sound, you can afford this luxury, and will be dedicated to play her, you have got to treat yourself to the sweet sounds of one of these. I cannot explain the experience. You either want one and will get one, or, you won't. Botttom line. But make no mistake, if you don't get one, you will never know how it feels or sounds to have tones of Royalty!!!!!!!

I have owned this guitar for a little over two months now. It is an absolutely amazing instrument to play and also just to look at when you're not playing.  The 5A quilted maple is beautiful and the red to orange fade/burst of the firemist is incredible. It also seems to be somewhat unique as I have not seen too many of these around. Mine was a custom order and took a couple of months to arrive. I am playing my guitar through a Fender amp along with the Line 6 Spider Valve mkII amp. I have yet to find a tone that I can't create. The neck is extremely fast, and the sustain is incredible. The Gibson Custom Shop did a great job with this instrument. I also cannot say enough good things about the staff at Musician's Friend who worked with me on this purchase. I would highly recommend this guitar to anyone looking for a unique Les Paul Custom!

Gibson-nothing compares

My wife left the house and I said "Don't buy me a guitar." Well, she got me this one. A Les Paul Custom Triburst. This sounds amazing, plays amazing and looks amazing. If you think it's not worth the money, think again. This is one of the prettiest, finest instruments Gibson makes. I finally "get" why it's worth it to pay thousands of dollars for a Gibson rather than pay 500 bucks for an Epiphone. I love my Epi Les Paul, but it doesn't compare to my custom. Buy it! By the way, my wife is the coolest for buying me this guitar.

Proud LP Owner

The 1968 Les Paul Custom is one of the finest guitars I have ever played. The workmanship is second to none and the sounds are classic Les Paul.  I already have a Custom Shop Strat, and a LP Studio and a Tele American Std at home, but this guitar is just a step above those instruments.  This guitar is as much at home thru a Marshall as it is a thru a Fender Twin or Vox.  Very versatile guitar with a little more flash, but pricey.  This is not a chambered guitar, thus the tone and sustain are incredible.  I looked at the 58 and 59 VOS models, but this guitar has more pop due to the ebony fret board and large head stock.  It is stunning to look at compared to the VOS modles which are designed to look old.
