Gibson Custom

Stunning perfection in every detail.

The ES-355 Limited Run electric guitar makes one of the great Gibson classics of the late '50s available again as a beautifully crafted and finished Custom Shop masterpiece. This one sports the classic Bigsby vibrato. Includes black levant hardshell case.

The Gibson ES-335 brought hollowbody tradition and solidbody performance together in 1958, and it is still one of the all-time classic guitar designs. It's among the most versatile guitars you can own. Classic semi-hollowbody design and dual '57 Classic Gibson humbuckers combine to produce everything from full-bodied growls to singing sustain. The ES-335 also features a thin-tapered 1960s neck and rosewood fingerboard (24-3/4" scale), body/neck binding, nickel-plated hardware with Grover kidney tuners, Tune-O-Matic bridge with stopbar tailpiece, separate volume and tone controls, and a 3-way switch.

Check the drop-down menu to the right to select colors and/or other options.

If you've never played an ES355, you should. The ebony fingerboard makes for the easiest string bends. Being a blues and jazz player, I keep a fat archtop for jazz and my ES355 for blues. Plug this into a Twin and it's absolutely heaven. I bought the red one with the hardtail set-up. The Bigsby set-up is for rockabilly - and if you're into that you should be playing a Gretsch anyway.

I bought a Gibson 355 in 1979 (when they were made in Kalamazoo) and it still out performs my other guitars.  Excellent investment.  You cant buy one now for what I paid for in then.  I own a Martin, Fender and Yamaha and they cant touch the Gibson.

I've had my ES 355 for several months and like it alot. I do a lot of string bendind and the ebony fretboard has kess drag than a rosewood fretboard-a real plus. Add to that the big block inlays and string bends are effortless. The '57 classic pickups had great output and at full tilt get just a bit nasty-great for blues solos. Finally, as a limited run, this guitar will be a nice collectibble piece in the future. Gibson's Custom shop comes through again!

Strap on this tank of a guitar and prepare for battle.  If you want that live Stones sound, plug this into a Fender Twin and let it wail.  Not for the faint of heart or people with bad backs.  Awesome finish, gold hardware, and tone.  'Nuff Said.

Solid, sturdy instrument, flawless finish, quality all the way. Mellow tone, good range through my Marshall, fast neck, a little heavier than I expected for a semi, but not bothersome. Cord plug on face will take getting used to after being comfortable with a Strat. Easy to see the attraction with this Gibson ES-355.
