The feel and look of a comfortable workhorse guitar.
This Les Paul Plain Top Electric Guitar has all the time-honored qualities you expect from a genuine LP out of the Gibson Custom Shop: one piece mahogany neck and warm-toned mahogany body--the natural finished plain top is complemented with a maple fretboard and is contrasted by black pickguard, knobs, and pickup rings. 490R and 498T Gibson humbucker pickups deliver warm rhythm and hot, solid lead sounds. Binding on the body, C-shaped neck, and headstock. Gold tuners add a touch of class to this Les Paul Custom guitar.

My wife surprised me with my dream guitar, a Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul Custom Natural Finish Electric Guitar with Maple Fretboard for Christmas, and I must say it screams quality from every nook and cranny. I had read that there is no "real" difference between Gibson and Epiphone, but I can honestly say since I own both the difference is huge. The hand crafted workamanship on this guitar is unbelievable, and the sound is even better. Everything from the knobs to the Pickups is solid and well crafted, it is a work of art! I also have a Les Paul studio (Wine red), though they cost a little more they are worth every penny!
My wife surprised me with a Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul Custom Natural Finish Electric Guitar with Maple Fretboard for Christmas, it is the holy grail of Guitars. I own 17 other guitars including a Gibson Studio and 2 American Fenders, but NOTHING touches this. Everything about this SCREAMS quality and craftmanship, I have quite a few Epiphones and NOW I see the difference. Both are nice, but the solid, Punchy, powerful sound and feel that is Gibson is quite simply worth every penny you will spend on it. This one is pretty rare from what I read which only adds to the allure of a top quality instrument. The certificate of authenticity, hard shell case and extras only add to the pure Gibson dream experience. Everyone complains about the price, but from where I am sitting, it is worth every dime!
The workmanship was execellent - no flaws and the wood grain was a tastefull pattern. The guitar was set up very well - no tweaking necessary out of the box. I really like the neck -the C shape provides a nice feel and the fret type makes for a low even action. The sound can suit many styles. I would say the stongest asset of the guitar is its playability.
