I've owned this LP for quite awhile, and I must say it is one of my favoites. It fits like a glove and plays itself. I never trust those who say "do not buy this guitar". Why? I have no problems at all making this guitar sing. The quality is superb, and the tone is outstanding. I, for one, love plaintops, so when someone says the looks are not there, I don't get it. Plaintops are hot. If you are all about the looks, go get a flametop, stick it in a display case and hang it on your wall. I mean thats what posers do, right? I'm a musician, and this is built to play. A working mans guitar. A little high on the price, but worth it. Easily holds it's own against my Historics. Nice. Thanks Gibson & of course, Slash.

I'm a big Slash fan, but when I first saw a photo of this model I was disappointed in it's looks, and price. Are you kidding me? I saw a salesman demo it at a music store a year or so ago for a crowd of people, and it didn't sound any better than any other high-end Les Paul. So what are you paying for with this? The name "Slash" on the truss rod cover? You certainly aren't paying for the finish, that's for sure. I have seen Slash play live two times with Velvet Revolver, and though he rotated through several LP's he neglected to use this guitar at either show (which says something to me). I have the PRS Mark Tremonti Signature Model, and I wouldn't trade it for three of these Slash models.

    Awesome Guitar!

Everything in this guitar is quality made, with the sound to back it up.
Super awesome instrument- Made with such craftsmanship it out plays your Standard Les Paul- no question! I've played older as well as more expensive Les Pauls (other brands too) and would put this guitar up against any twice the price. The rare wood in this body creates a tone that's resonates with sustain that rings out with awesome crystal clear tone. It rates well above your regularly produced Standard from Gibson. The special design of the neck allows for faster playing and really allows you to manipulate a song! The fishman bridge gives you versatility that allows you to create the sounds of several music styles. I'm not a musician who chooses instruments based on their famous users- this is just a quality instrument that gives you great classic sounds of the original 50's Les Paul's, no matter who's name is on it. Although Slash is one of the great players. This guitar is made to sound like they were originally made with the classic Les Paul tone that gave them their great reputation.
Quality rare wood and it shows! Value is top notch. As one would expect from a Guitar from Gibson.
This guitar is well worth the price and any true talented player would recognize the quality in minutes. This guitar is for any musician who is skilled enough to recognize the true differences in tone and handling/playing ability!

    didn't like it at all.

    By Metalguitarist11

I tried this out at a local music store, let me say I was EXTREMELY let down. The features are all there, but I just couldn't play right on this guitar, and it sounded like crap! I tell you, DO NOT BUY THIS. I tried the cheapest Epiphone les paul after, and it played better than this.

    Great Guitar

    By hollowembrace

This guitar is not your run of the mill Les Paul. Myself and many others love the tobacco sunburst finish. Yes it's not the most exotic top, but it exemplifies classic style with modern edge in a package that is neither too "goddy" or "glammy." I believe as well that teh price is a bit much for this baby. I do enjoy the tonal diversity that comes from this guitar. I get just about any type of sound I want from mine. I play metal, rock ,jazz, blues. A great axe for all types.

    okay guitar

    By Anonymous

    from Undisclosed

This guitar is pretty good from what I have seen and heard. But it has the quality of any other les paul. From what I know Slash plays a standard and other models but not this as much. In my personal opinion get a standard if you really want to be like slash. They have the same quality and action. As said you are paying for the name. If you want a les paul I recomment the classic custom or the epiphone les paul ultra II.

    Incredible

    By Kirby

    from MN

This guitar plays better than any les paul I have ever picked up in my entire life. The pickups sound incredible (obviously they are slashes choice, dunks) The tone on it is also absolutely incredible! this thing screams through practically any Mesa amp. Action is really low so you can do all sorts of scale runs exactly like he does so that gives it another bonus.

    Awesome/Stinky Guitar

The features are great on this guitar, but the quality stinks. It has terrible quality because the neck is made of balsa wood. This guitar is strange. I've had it for about 3 years now, but no problems.

    My Idol's guitar is AMAZING!!!!!!

    By Skater1

    from Rochester, NY

This guitar is the most amazing guitar out there. Not only is Slash my idol, the guitar he plays is just as good as his playing. The fishman knob at the bottom adds a dash of tone to the crazy solos he played. This is the best guitar ever.
