I've owned this LP for quite awhile, and I must say it is one of my favoites. It fits like a glove and plays itself. I never trust those who say "do not buy this guitar". Why? I have no problems at all making this guitar sing. The quality is superb, and the tone is outstanding. I, for one, love plaintops, so when someone says the looks are not there, I don't get it. Plaintops are hot. If you are all about the looks, go get a flametop, stick it in a display case and hang it on your wall. I mean thats what posers do, right? I'm a musician, and this is built to play. A working mans guitar. A little high on the price, but worth it. Easily holds it's own against my Historics. Nice. Thanks Gibson & of course, Slash.

I'm a big Slash fan, but when I first saw a photo of this model I was disappointed in it's looks, and price. Are you kidding me? I saw a salesman demo it at a music store a year or so ago for a crowd of people, and it didn't sound any better than any other high-end Les Paul. So what are you paying for with this? The name "Slash" on the truss rod cover? You certainly aren't paying for the finish, that's for sure. I have seen Slash play live two times with Velvet Revolver, and though he rotated through several LP's he neglected to use this guitar at either show (which says something to me). I have the PRS Mark Tremonti Signature Model, and I wouldn't trade it for three of these Slash models.

Awesome Guitar!

By KATHY MURRELL

from IN

Everything in this guitar is quality made, with the sound to back it up.
Super awesome instrument- Made with such craftsmanship it out plays your Standard Les Paul- no question! I've played older as well as more expensive Les Pauls (other brands too) and would put this guitar up against any twice the price. The rare wood in this body creates a tone that's resonates with sustain that rings out with awesome crystal clear tone. It rates well above your regularly produced Standard from Gibson. The special design of the neck allows for faster playing and really allows you to manipulate a song! The fishman bridge gives you versatility that allows you to create the sounds of several music styles. I'm not a musician who chooses instruments based on their famous users- this is just a quality instrument that gives you great classic sounds of the original 50's Les Paul's, no matter who's name is on it. Although Slash is one of the great players. This guitar is made to sound like they were originally made with the classic Les Paul tone that gave them their great reputation.
Quality rare wood and it shows! Value is top notch. As one would expect from a Guitar from Gibson.
This guitar is well worth the price and any true talented player would recognize the quality in minutes. This guitar is for any musician who is skilled enough to recognize the true differences in tone and handling/playing ability!

A Must Have Les Paul!!!

By Jim-lSUeE

from Chicago, IL

I purchased this Slash Signature Les Paul quite a while ago when you had to order it directly through Gibson. It was probably one of the best investments that I have ever made. Not only is Slash my favorite guitarists of all time, but this new signature model blows many others away. The quality, tones and feel compares to no other and I highly recommend it. Don't pass up this opportunity to own an awesome guitar and a piece of history.

Great Guitar

This guitar is not your run of the mill Les Paul. Myself and many others love the tobacco sunburst finish. Yes it's not the most exotic top, but it exemplifies classic style with modern edge in a package that is neither too "goddy" or "glammy." I believe as well that teh price is a bit much for this baby. I do enjoy the tonal diversity that comes from this guitar. I get just about any type of sound I want from mine. I play metal, rock ,jazz, blues. A great axe for all types.

Incredible

By Kirby

This guitar plays better than any les paul I have ever picked up in my entire life. The pickups sound incredible (obviously they are slashes choice, dunks) The tone on it is also absolutely incredible! this thing screams through practically any Mesa amp. Action is really low so you can do all sorts of scale runs exactly like he does so that gives it another bonus.

From Les Pauls to Les Pauls

Whatever I can say of this axe won't do it justice. I have played various Les Pauls and own a 92 standard since I was 17. This one takes home the gold cup. From the color which kind of changes with the light through an incredibly fast neck and eternal sustain, you definitely know who had the idea for this guitar. It's worth the 4,000 bucks; you want a high-end instrument with an investment return in money and sound you got it; my congratulations to Slash and Gibson for this piece and for an additional treat, the acoustic pick-up, thumbs way up. One thing though, don't leave it plugged, amazingly it has a battery and if it wares out it will sound like it has got a cold, other than that, AMAZING!!!!

WOW!!!!

By LesPaulLover1104

This guitar is the most amazing i have ever played. Amongst my and my fathers guitars which include, Eric Johnson Signature Strat, Custom 24 PRS, Gibson Zakk Wylde Bullseye, Johnny A. signature, Les Paul 1968 reissue FT, and many others this guitar is the best. I was very nervous when buying this guitar because i was not able to play it before buying it, and for such a hefty price you don't want to make a mistake. I Can't tell you how happy i was upon my first time playing this guitar, i was shocked. I have never played a guitar with so much tone, that was so versatile, and playable. If you don't own this guitar YOU ARE MISSING OUT!!!

Awesome Piece!

By Thesoundgod

from San Diego, CA

The only thing I like better than the tone of this guitar, is the playablity. The neck profile on this thing makes it the smoothest most effortless player I have ever played. The tone thru the Alnicos cuts like a knife thru butter, and the fishman in the bridge delivers a pretty cool acoustic type tone. I have other Les Pauls and some other pretty high end guitars, and this is my favorite.

Best guitar EVER

By Rusty-g7sJ.

See all my reviews

This is the best guitar ever hands down. I normally go guitar shops just to try some new guitars and I have played Joe Perry's Les Paul Jimmy Page's double neck and Steve Vai's Jem they can't stand up right to this badass guitar. Though Slash is my favorite guitarist he probably isn't the best. I thought I hated the pant job but I just makes me drool on this Les Paul. This guitar is just what a dude would want in a good rock n roll band.
