Gibson Custom

A razor-sharp axe with cutting 'buckers and piezos.

Radically changed since Slash's original signature model in the late '90s, this Les Paul Electric Guitar focuses on utility over beauty (though it retains the latter in spades. In addition to aged hardware, this LP has the Custom Authentic finish, a special treatment that gives it the patina of a gently-aged vintage guitar. 2 Seymour Duncan Alnico Pro II humbuckers provide a rip-roaring tone. The Fishman Powerbridge adds huge potential for tonal enhancement and sparkling rhythm parts. Slash custom profile neck for unbelievable speed and comfort.

Gibson's Custom Shop produces some of the finest electric guitars on earth. Using the best materials money can buy, a staff of skilled luthiers reproduce some of the greatest Gibsons of the past and create stunning new instruments for players and collectors who demand the best.

Awesome Guitar!

Features:

Super awesome instrument- Made with such craftsmanship it out plays your Standard Les Paul- no question! I've played older as well as more expensive Les Pauls (other brands too) and would put this guitar up against any twice the price.  The rare wood in this body creates a tone that's resonates with sustain that rings out with awesome crystal clear tone.  It rates well above your regularly produced Standard from Gibson. The special design of the neck allows for faster playing and really allows you to manipulate a song!  The fishman bridge gives you versatility that allows you to create the sounds of several music styles.  I'm not a musician who chooses instruments based on their famous users- this is just a quality instrument that gives you great classic sounds of the original 50's Les Paul's, no matter who's name is on it. Although Slash is one of the great players. This guitar is made to sound like they were originally made with the classic Les Paul tone that gave them their great reputation.

Quality:

Quality rare wood and it shows! Value is top notch. As one would expect from a Guitar from Gibson.

Value:

This guitar is well worth the price and any true talented player would recognize the quality in minutes. This guitar is for any musician who is skilled enough to recognize the true differences in tone and handling/playing ability!

Overall:

Everything in this guitar is quality made, with the sound to back it up.

I've owned this LP for quite awhile, and I must say it is one of my favoites. It fits like a glove and plays itself. I never trust those who say "do not buy this guitar". Why? I have no problems at all making this guitar sing. The quality is superb, and the tone is outstanding. I, for one, love plaintops, so when someone says the looks are not there, I don't get it. Plaintops are hot. If you are all about the looks, go get a flametop, stick it in a display case and hang it on your wall. I mean thats what posers do, right? I'm a musician, and this is built to play. A working mans guitar. A little high on the price, but worth it. Easily holds it's own against my Historics. Nice. Thanks Gibson & of course, Slash.

I tried this out at a local music store, let me say I was EXTREMELY let down. The features are all there, but I just couldn't play right on this guitar, and it sounded like crap! I tell you, DO NOT BUY THIS. I tried the cheapest Epiphone les paul after, and it played better than this.

This guitar is not your run of the mill Les Paul. Myself and many others love the tobacco sunburst finish. Yes it's not the most exotic top, but it exemplifies classic style with modern edge in a package that is neither too "goddy" or "glammy." I believe as well that teh price is a bit much for this baby. I do enjoy the tonal diversity that comes from this guitar. I get just about any type of sound I want from mine. I play metal, rock ,jazz, blues. A great axe for all types.
