Comments about Gibson ES-335 12 String Electric Guitar:

After buying a RIC 360/12, the SG 12 string and the Les Paul 12 string, this one does it the best.

Comments about Gibson ES-335 12 String Electric Guitar:

I own two Rickenbacker 12 strings (381/12V69 which has a 1-5/8" nut) (660/12 which has a 1-3/4" nut)) but have always been curious about the 335 Gibson 12 string. When I saw that Gibson reissued this guitar with the 1-3/4" nut I, bit the bullet and bought it. I have no regrets. I like my Rickenbackers but the Gibson 335/12 is a much more playable guitar. It sounds much more full with the dual coil pickups but you still have the option of single coil with the push/pull pots. It plays easier, stays in tune better, and is much easier to restring. Rickenbacker is a good guitar and has all the nostalgia that comes with it, but in my opinion the Gibson 335/12 is a better sounding and more user friendly guitar. Don't hesitate to buy it.

Comments about Gibson ES-335 12 String Electric Guitar:

I've owned two acoustic 12-strings--Eko, Guild--and three electric 12-strings: Carvin solid, Fender Strat, Rickenbacker 330. Of course the Guild blows the Eko away, and the Gibson 335 tops all the electrics. It has the warm tone of a hollow-body but can jangle as brightly as needed--it sounds good for acoustic practice, for which use the Rickenbacker sounded like a banjo--is well balanced and easy to play, doesn't crowd the strings with too narrow a neck, and places controls out of my way--unlike the Strat, whose pickup switch is easy to hit inadvertently. From a practical standpoint, the Gibson is much easier to restring than the tedious Fender or the diabolical Rickenbacker. I like simple, classic guitars, and my only complaint on receiving the sunburst instrument was that the advertised black tone and volume knobs had been replaced by the shiny ones that go on the more common red model. Musician's Friend quickly shipped me the correct knobs. If I have a secondary concern, it's that Gibson should continue offering the SG and Les Paul 12-strings as well, instead of treating them as limited issues; I'm glad I bought the 335 while it's still available. All in all, my 335 is a welcome indulgence for a drummer who has a thing for 12-strings!

Comments about Gibson ES-335 12 String Electric Guitar:

Playin 50 yrs. This 12 will blow you away, versitle, tone monster, easyplay, exc. build quality. My Ric. 370/12 is a different monster with the greatest treble cut of anything even a tele, unique reverse octive twang but doesn"t have the rich multi tones the 335/12 has and is a monster to finger esp. with lg. mits. The 335/12 is 1-3/4 nut. This axe projects just fine for unplugged practice also and what a vibrato. It also sports burst bucker split coil pickups with popup vol.controls. Gibson makes these in runs and it isn"t sure whether they will make many more. Bottom line you"ll not regret buying this...it"s a great additional voice to anyone"s guitar collection choir or studio.
