Takes the V to a whole new level.

The Limited Run Tribal V Electric Guitar takes the classic Flying V format to the next level, delivering an instrument honed for the contemporary player with all the time-honored features of the original. Clearly the most identifiable part of the Tribal V is its V-shaped mahogany body. The body is also set in a Satin White finish with a distinct Tribal art pattern design to accent the guitar's electronics and traditional lines, making it one of the most eye-catching vs Gibson USA has ever produced. The Tribal art pattern design also appears on the guitar's headstock, which remains true to the unique, pointed headstock found on the original Flying V. The neck is also the traditional Flying V neck, which is a hybrid of the standard '50s rounded contour and the '60s slim-taper profile.

Each Tribal V comes equipped with the industry's ultimate tremolo system—the Kahler 2215K from Kahler USA. This black chrome stud mount tremolo system features individual fine tuners; a brass cam and stainless steel saddles that deliver enhanced sustain and harmonics; and a warm, rich overall tone. Add the muscle of uncovered Gibson 496R and 500T humbucker pickups and you end up with one scorching and timeless rock and roll classic. The Tribal V Limited Run Series from Gibson USA is restricted to just 350 guitars, and all of them come with a black Gibson hardshell case with white interior and silkscreened Gibson USA logo and a special certificate of authenticity.

A certain aura of mystique has always surrounded the legendary Gibson Flying V. Ever since its introduction in 1958, the Flying V has remained the ultimate symbol of rock and roll rebellion. And although it wasn't fully embraced until the hard rock and heavy metal movements of the late '60s and early '70s, the guitar's intense magnetic appeal, powerful sound and unusually familiar shape have made it one of the most instantly recognizable guitars in the world.

Tribal V with Floyd Rose lock nut

    By AK47-ZGrvP

    from VANCOUVER

Comments about Gibson Limited Run Tribal V Electric Guitar:

I bought the tribal V as the stupid deal of the day - half off, for the value - it's really stupid not to buy a USA made V with hot buckers and Kahler trem.Man, for those bashing this guitar, I have had it for 6 months now and I have something to say about it:Just freaking lock the bridge if you are worried about tuning stability! I lock it and use it as rhythm guitar sometimes and it's awesome, great finish tone, cutting 500T on steel Kahler roller sound, a league in its own. Then of course, I had to get a local tech to install a FR lock nut just for the sake of it. After $120, this guitar shows its true potential, I can now stay in tune almost up to 80% of my other high end FR guitars. If you have the money, buy it, install a lock nut, and it's a decent instrument. I personally like the whole look of it and find it surpassing the BC RICH Kerry King sig tribal in the looks and bling dept. It's a USA Gibson for crying out loud. You can soup up a civic to be faster, more fuel efficeint, and handles better than any Italian made cports car but in the end, a guitar is not all about staying in tune and such, go play a midi keyboard if you want precise tuning of your instrument, a guitar is all about transfering a voice in your head/hand and should be all about character.I'd hate to bring up Mr. Hendrix again for a solid example, he raped the trem bridge on a strat all day and tune up the guitar before/during a song, I don't see anyone bashing Jimmy about staying in tune! For the record, I have dozens of guitar and basses including and from Gibson to ESP, LTD, Fernandes sustainer, to agile and Jay Turser. My #1 is surprisingly an LTD ECCOBWEB, followed by a Revolver Pro 81, and a souped up agile al2000.

    My Tribal V

    By Guitar Jones

Comments about Gibson Limited Run Tribal V Electric Guitar:

Very nice guitar. Neck perfectly flat, very low action, almost no string buzz,PERFECT! Intonation was horrible on arrival. Had to adjust the bridge and saddles quite a bit but finally got it right. This guitar has great tone. Love the finish and graphics.

A changed opinion on this axe

    By The Snowman45

Comments about Gibson Limited Run Tribal V Electric Guitar:

I recently reviewed this guitar, mentioning that I loved it, but after having it for a bit longer, I've become extremely dissatisfied.Having better looks at it, I've noticed dings in the guitar that I'm certain I didn't put there, and can't get over the overall feeling of this guitar not being a finished piece, like they took it out of production about halfway through the making of it.Needless to say, I believe I'm going to be returning it.

    Awesome guitar with one flaw

    By The Snowman45

    from Creston, B.C., Canada

Comments about Gibson Limited Run Tribal V Electric Guitar:

I just got my Tribal V today, and I absolutely love it. Totally blows every other V I've played out of the water, and holds up in tone and playability to my 20 year old Les Paul. The clean tone of this guitar is absolutely phenomenal, not to mention how much the dirty tone snarls, growls, and screams. The finish wasn't quite what I expected, as I expected the guitar to have a glossy finish, and I wasn't sure what to think at first, but I've really grown to like the look and feel of it already. The only flaw I've found with this is that it absolutely needs a locking nut installed, otherwise you pretty much have to keep the Kahler in Fixed Bridge mode.

    tribal v

    By mike-Pt2aY

    from Long island, NY

Comments about Gibson Limited Run Tribal V Electric Guitar:

lets see.. i loved this guitar at first site and it plays as good as it looks out of the box from MF. i got a good deal so the small cosmetic defects dont take much from my overall love of it. a small ink splatter in the paint i will fix and the edge of the tribal g in the headstock was not finished well (maybe some better lighting in the finishing room was needed). i do wish it had some cooler inlays and maybe the jack in the underside of the v like my special 89 v. that aside this is a rockstar maker! so get em while you can. i did!
