The tone can only be described as "vibrant", with an incredibly comfortable neck that's hard to put down!

Designed by Gibson's master luthier Ren Ferguson, it salutes the skill and spirit of the guitar builders at Gibson Montana. The back and sides are crafted of hand-selected figured maple while the immaculate AAA solid Sitka spruce top projects rich tone for miles. The easy-playing ebony fingerboard features mother-of-pearl block inlays and 20 frets. Body binding accentuates the body's flowing curves. Gold Grover tuners provide sure, accurate tuning. The neck joint is a hand-cut compound dovetail. The gold-embossed pickguard is a stunning finishing flourish. Includes case.

Sounds better with age

Comments about Gibson Montana Gold Flame Maple Acoustic Guitar:

As you would expect from Gibson, this is a well-crafted guitar. The J-200 delivers a booming sound, heavy on bass and soft on the highs. I purchased this guitar in Bozeman from Music Villa in 1998 (yes, 13 years ago), not for from where I live. This particular guitar was set aside by a Gibson employee, who had reserved this guitar for himself because of it's unique appointments (it has a rather extraordinary neck, back and sides), and then something happened and couldn't afford to make the purchase. They were a limited run then of 250 per year. Sorry for the long history, some may find it cool. The guitar has aged well, and as you would expect, and sounds better with age. It is beautiful, but this guitar begs to be played. There is various finish checking, fairly widespread, but not very noticeable unless up close. However, this is part of the normal aging process, and just adds character to the guitar. It has been meticulously cared for, in a humidity controlled environment. The workmanship and attention to detail is remarkable. The first couple of years I was real ginger with this guitar, because it is a work of art, but these days I play the heck out of it and it just asks for more.

Gibson Montana Gold

By Logan Chanley

from Indiana

Comments about Gibson Montana Gold Flame Maple Acoustic Guitar:

TOP quality craftsmanship is what this guitar boils down to. I'm approaching my 16th year of guitar playing and have owned everything from a Squire acoustic onto a Guild D55, then on to a Taylor 800 series and I found the guitar of my dreams in this one. Handcrafted in Bozeman, MT from the finest of woods to represent the artwork that flows from the Gibson plant in Montana. They have really outdone themselves with this piece. Great work Gibson, MT. You win.
