Ready to add depth with its longer scale and high-performance electronics.

The Gibson SG Baritone is ready to bring new depth to your sound. It has a longer 27" scale allowing you to tune down as much as a fifth lower than standard tuning. It features an oversize mahogany body for extra resonance and a set mahogany neck. The 24-fret fingerboard is made of Richlite, a durable material that's dense and perfect for smooth fingering. The SG Baritone comes equipped with powerful 496R and 500T pickups that are wired to a 3-way switch and individual volume and tone controls for each pickup. Coil-tapping is onboard for expanded tone-shaping. Chrome Grover tuners and a tune-o-matic bridge complete the list of deluxe appointments. Includes hardshell case.

      Comments about Gibson SG Baritone:

Maintaining the SG baritone may be challenging. The one that I received had a serious under bow in the neck and, the action was very high. It was not factory sealed and there is finishing deficiencies around the bridge anchor. However, after I adjusted the truss rod, pickup height, bridge height, and intonation, the guitar is actually a very nice guitar to play. The look and appearance is astonishing. This is a great guitar.

      Comments about Gibson SG Baritone:

Let me begin by saying this guitar blew me away. The all white scheme looks even better in person and the tone is insane! Great playability, the body is slightly bigger than a Standard SG and is perfectly proportional to the extended scale length on the neck. The action is set perfect and the intonation matched that of a Les Paul Standard. Sounds great with blues and metal, which is my personal favorite styles to play.

The only problem I had was with the cover plate on the back of the guitar. It was installed incorrectly and is un-characteristic of Gibson. The holes for the screws were drilled in the wrong location and it doesn't fully tighten down all around the plate. You can also see were it messed the paint up under the plate itself. It doesn't affect the sound though and can only be seen if you look closely at the back of the guitar. Other than that, I am fully satisfied!
