OVERVIEW

Limited-run guitar with one-of-a-kind body design and top graphic, with electronics that were made to bring the tonal fire.

Between his solo outings and collaborations, to tours and recording with his own band Black Label Society and Ozzy Osbourne, Zakk Wylde is established as one of the rock's fiercest players. With a recognizable tone and visual style as unique as his incendiary chops, Wylde has wreaked havoc on many Gibson guitars—from Les Pauls, to Explorers, to Flying Vs. His new take on a near-mythological retro-modern Gibson, the Limited Edition Zakk Wylde Moderne of Doom Electric guitar, is perhaps the best-suited of all to this artist’s uncompromising individuality.

The Zakk Wylde Moderne of Doom with Floyd Rose is based on the legendary, yet never released, third member of the Modernist Series of the late 1950s—the Gibson Moderne. Intended to complement the revolutionary Explorer and Flying V, the original Moderne never saw the light of day. In the hands of Gibson USA, the radical Moderne style, taken from factory design sketches of 1958, unfolds as an unrelenting, flamethrowing modern-rock tone machine.

With a solid Grade-A mahogany body and Grade-A maple top, the Zakk Wylde Moderne with Floyd Rose launches a great attack thanks to tried-and-true tonewoods. However it veers into one-of-a-kind territory thanks to the ultra-radical Moderne body style, natural nitrocellulose finish and its Zakk-certified black pinstripe top graphic. A glued-in Grade-A maple neck is carved to Wylde’s preferred profile for full-on shred, and topped with a beautiful dark Grade-A Richlite fingerboard. Providing you with unequalled power and sustain to create crunch-of-doom rhythm licks and hellfire leads are a pair of Zakk’s beloved EMG active humbuckers (EMG 85 in the neck, EMG 81 in the bridge). Adding to the guitar’s versatility is a Floyd Rose vibrato with locking nut ready to scream out your wildest dive-bombing action.
With matte-black pickup covers, black hardware, and a trio of black speed knobs, this limited edition guitar has the wild looks to match Wylde’s tone.

Comments about Gibson Zakk Wylde Moderne of Doom Electric Guitar:

ordered this awesome gibson electric guitar from mf mon nite and it arrived today (thurs ) - as usual, mf gave me a great deal and this guitar rocks. I was somewhat concerned about how it would sound and feel - but my concerns were eliminated when I opened the box. The guitar looks, feels, plays, and sounds great. It is also fairly heavy so probably not the only guitar you'd bring to a gig. I got #74 - gibson says only 250 will be made so this should also be a collectors item in additional to a great playing guitar

Comments about Gibson Zakk Wylde Moderne of Doom Electric Guitar:

The final sealer on the finish was not applied evenly. I can feel the texture of the wood around the area where the top joins the body.

The sound was what I expected, nice.

The case had clumped felt in a few areas - I don't know how common that is but it looks like glue got onto a few spots all around the size of a quarter.

I think this guitar is overpriced - a fair price would be 3/4 of what I payed in my opinion because of what you're gettng.

I would recommend it to a friend if they wanted to pay a couple hundred moneyz more for a nice guitar than what it's worth.
