OVERVIEW

Now with triple humbuckers and coil-tapping for maximum versatility.

The G&L Tribute Ascari GTS HB3 Electric Guitar was inspired by a recently uncovered prototype drawing done three decades ago by G&L co-founder George Fullerton, representing Leo Fenders vision for G&L's first 24.75 in. scale, three-tuners-to-a-side guitar. It was designed jointly by G&L's Paul Gagon and Grover Jackson, founder of Jackson Guitars. Its DNA is full of rock guitar history.

Yet it breaks new ground for G&L: it has a set neck, a Leo-inspired headstock with three tuners to a side, and a 24.75 in. scale to put it squarely on the classic side of the rock-and-roll stage.

Add in a TonePros tailpiece and three tappable Alnico humbuckers, and you have a gorgeous, high-performance rock guitar thats simultaneously strikingly new and steeped in rock guitar history.

Comments about G&L Tribute ASCARI GTS HB3 Electric Guitar:

I bought this guitar because it was on sale and I have had very good luck with G&L guitars. This one is attractive, the action was already set low, no buzzes, and intonation is great. I spent several hours experimenting with it with several different amps. It is very versatile with the coil tapping features, which is good to pick the ones you like best, or as the song dictates. It sounds close to a Strat or a Les Paul with various settings.

The guitar sounds very good with a Marshall acoustic amp, believe it or nor. I will run it through a Fender Twin as soon as I can. As I said, I have a lot of experimenting to do yet with amps and settings. I'm not much on hard rock or metal so I will not talk about those genres, but as a clean, clear, easy to play guitar with a beautiful finish, I would buy it again in a heartbeat.

Comments about G&L Tribute ASCARI GTS HB3 Electric Guitar:

Great Job G&L its everything they say it is, Add the triple HB and boom. one of the most versatile guitars I have. Pod up on tone knob and coil taps are the easy to use and give you so many options when con=combined with the 5 selector switch. Not surprised by coming from Leo' design. Looks/quality and solid. Get the HB3.

Comments about G&L Tribute ASCARI GTS HB3 Electric Guitar:

This guitar is so awesome that it is guaranteed that you will get a million $$$ advance on a recording deal even if you never played a guitar before. It will put you first in line at every place you go to and hot chicks will recognize you as a super stud.
OK, well, results may differ but it is a seriously great guitar.
First off, mine felt great, played great and was intonated right out of the box (and yes I needed spell check for intonated). It, like the other G&L guitars I own (5 total) are like owning at least 2 guitars in one. The range of tone on this is more like 3 with that 3rd pickup in it. It does everything my Les Paul does but when it comes to the end extremes of my LP, this just keeps going. If you think of tone as a 1-10 variety pack, this guitar goes from about 1-30. I love the way my LP looks but it just doesn't stand up to the G&L.
If you compare this to a fender, these overseas made G&L guitars match up with the quality of a American custom shop. If you buy the high end G&Ls its like driving a jag.
You won't go wrong. If you have to buy just one guitar, go get a job and come back when you have more money because you're going to end up buying more of them and going broke.

Comments about G&L Tribute ASCARI GTS HB3 Electric Guitar:

I just picked up the gorgeous Irish Ale finish HB3 on STOTD last month. This is a beautifully crafted fully capable instrument. I would like to drop the action a bit, it's okay as is, perfect setup, but to go lower will require slight seating or dressing of one high fret. A tiny ding in one pickup cover, otherwise perfectly finished. Very resonant guitar, the neck is fatter than my Ascari GT--90, more D than C shaped and slightly heavier body. This is such a great guitar I would buy the trans-black as well just for the beauty and quality of it but gotta pay the rent. ; ) Fits right in with my several American and one Mexican Fenders, PRS, original Dean (amazing guitar), G&L's, Gibson and Ricky. These G&L Tributes are fantastic deals for great quality.

Comments about G&L Tribute ASCARI GTS HB3 Electric Guitar:

I bought this mainly because of the the story behind how the design came to fruition. I mean every guitar player has thought of morphing a Strat and a Les Paul right? I may add some more combinations in the pickup configurations (Like I do on all the Strats I build) I do a 7 way switch that gives you the ability to add neck and bridge pickups together, or all 3. Other than that, I think the guitar is great. A great bang for the buck.

Comments about G&L Tribute ASCARI GTS HB3 Electric Guitar:

For the money, you're just not going to find another guitar this nice. Wow, the Irish Ale finish is gorgeous. It practically changes color depending on the lighting, from deep wine red to a very natural wood w/ orange tint. The finish appears near flawless, I just found a TINY 2 cm discoloration on the back, no big deal. Set up was nice n low without buzz. I did have to adjust saddles here and there for intonation, but that's almost expected. Input jack was a bit loose at first, but I just opened it up and tightened it down, now good to go. Pups sound great, very warm and dynamic and complex. There's soooo many tones you can achieve without touching your amp settings! The pups are close behind the strings, but you get used to it quickly, no problem. Binding around neck and body is a nice touch. Neck and frets look and feel great. I can already tell that the tuning stability will be great with the special bridge.

All in all, this is a very beautiful, high quality guitar with some great, unique features, and it's an absolute steal for the sale price!

I have the double PUP version of this in 25.5 and 24.7 but this was a great deal with three humbuckers without having to buy a black beauty LP.
I like the looks and the quality is good . I have to spend more hours playing this before I give you more feedback

Comments about G&L Tribute ASCARI GTS HB3 Electric Guitar:

Multiple guitars in one. Great strat, LP, and in between sounds. Switch brings center pickup in and out. Wiring diagram on G&L website. That is the only place where one can find any operational information on the guitar. No manual included. Guitar was well finished and played very well right out of the box. Diadarrio strings. Intonation was good, as was fret prep.
My only complaints: cheap plastic knobs make the pots feel cheap. Switch cover popped off and is a bit loose and needed some light glue to keep in place. Got as a stupid deal, which makes it a great value!!
