OVERVIEW

With the neck bolted deeper into the the body by an extra-fret, you get a bigger sound on the Godin Exit 22 while retaining an extremely comfortable feel and balance thanks to the short scale and sculpted, heelless neck joint. Monstrous distortion tones are easily dialed in via the bridge-position humbucker and stinging clean sounds are at your fingertips thanks to the single-coils in the neck and middle position. The electric guitar's solid mahogany body and rock maple neck have a semi-gloss finish for a sleek feel.

Check the drop-down menu to the right to select colors and/or other options.

Combines a 24-3/4' scale with a 22-fret neck.

Comments about Godin Exit 22 Electric Guitar:

My Exit 22 S is easily comparable to any of my top shelf guitars. I play, PRS, Fender, Gibson, Rickenbacker, Early Washburn and Early Ibanez and this Godin holds it own against the pack. The only thing that this guitar suffers from is a lack of interest by the pro's. The main thing that makes a guitar desirable and go down in history as a great piece of kit is endorsement by the greats. Well, I think it's a nice that occasionally one slips through the gaps, it makes these guitars even more affordable and easy for struggling musicians to get a quality guitar at a price not over blown by reputation or hype.
This guitar has an amazing range of sounds with the SSH pickup combination, coil tap on the humbucker would make it even better but not absolutely necessary. The mahogany body is heavy, but so are my Les Paul's and PRS, it's not a guitar you would want strapped on all night, but I would rather the weight than the loss of tone and sustain. Clean sounds are incredible in neck and middle. The humbucker is a bit hard clean, but not unusable and it really is a bonus when you want dirty or crunch.Very nice slim neck, not uncomfortably slim and the 24 3/4 scale works perfectly with it.

Comments about Godin Exit 22 Electric Guitar:

I wanted a cheaper, almost "throw-away" guitar to leave at our winter home and was amazed at the quality sound and construction of the Godin. I have a '98 PRS Custom 22 at home and the Exit 22 feels very similar (slight fretboard radius difference, 10" for the PRS, 12" for the Godin). The 2 single and 1 humbucker with 5 way switching makes for any sound I require. All the pots, blade switch, and tuners are firm and feel solid and very positive. All in all, IMO the Exit 22 is a good replacement for my PRS at a fraction of the cost.

Unbelievable! A diamond in the rough!!

Comments about Godin Exit 22 Electric Guitar:

I've been a customer of Musiciansfriend since 1991. Pretty much know the inventory when I'm looking for a guitar. If you're like me you've played everything on the market. If you're looking for an inexpensive guitar that has perfect quality control, this axe is for you. Sweet thin neck, plenty of tonal options, very well balanced and the most important, Great Sound! For the price I paid with a top quality gigbag this thing blows the Melody Maker or the PRS SE student model away. Unless you play as good as Petrucci or Vai, this is all the machine you need. Best purchase I've made here.

      Fantastic guitar

      By GodinConvert

      from Toronto, Ontario

Comments about Godin Exit 22 Electric Guitar:

The Exit 22 is a fantastic, North American made, pro quality guitar for a reasonable price. I've had mine for three years now (the one with the maple fretboard) and have nothing but good things to say about it. It was setup well brand new, but I prefer to play with .11s so had to set it up for those out of the box.The single coils and humbucker balance well in this guitar, and all positions on the selector switch yield usable tones. Neck position is particularly sweet for blues and jazz, neck-middle gets a good Sultans of Swing lead sound, and the bridge pickup handles hard rock and classic metal well. The tuners are well made and work nicely, the bridge is good quality and solidly built. The neck fits snugly in the neck pocket. Neck is similar to modern Fender necks. Upper fret access on the guitar is VERY good due to a smoothly rounded heel joint. It's easy to play notes up to the 22 fret. Medium jumbo frets keep you from fretting out, and are hard wearing. Only problem that has occurred since I've owned it is that the volume and tone pots started to get scratchy last year, so I replaced them. Cost was about 10$. No other problems after three years of daily play and occasional gigs, which is pretty good in my books.

Comments about Godin Exit 22 Electric Guitar:

I recently purchased the Godin Exit 22, maple neck, based on reviews, and my previous experience with a Godin electric. Man, this is one cool guitar, easy to play, gentle on the fingers, and totally playable out of the box. Probably will get a setup down the way after we all settle in, I usually wait 6 months unless there's something glaring after purchase. The sound is superb, close action, and slim neck, by my standards. Currently using a Reverend Hellhound, but it sounds just fine out of a Twin Reverb, or G-Dec Practice Amp. The neck was just a little rough for the first few months, and I did have to wait two months for the order to actually come in, but those are the only negatives that I can come up with. If I didn't own it, I would want to own it. A great, fun guitar by any standard, and well worth the price. Even the gig bag was nice, and I generally go hard shell on everything, which I'll get for this one down the way.

      Great value, Great guitar

      By David-d3SJC

      from NY, PA, AZ

Comments about Godin Exit 22 Electric Guitar:

I picked this guitar up at the same time I purchased my American Deluxe Strat. I love the weight, the feel and the simplicity of the Godin. Figured I'd use it in front of my computer and on the bus. And while I love this guitar, I always thought it could be more than what it was, so I swapped out the electronics, changed the pots from 250k to 500k, exchanged the mediocre Godin-designed humberbucker for a Bill Lawrence 500xl --and now I have a snarling tone machine that sounds as heavy as the lovely slab of mahogany that defines it.

      great multi use beginner guitar

Comments about Godin Exit 22 Electric Guitar:

This is a great guitar for anyone moving up from a beginner style. I play in a blues band, CCR cover band, a Dead cover band, and occasionally sub for an 80s hair band and have used this for all ofthem. It sounds best high up the neck with the bridge pickup, and sounds like my LP, even if it doesn't play as fast. The neck and fretwork isn't great and can beat up your fingers, and in retrospect I would have gotten a new american strat just for the fingerboard, but when I do, I'll probably still use this for live stuff.Prob best new guitar & most versatile in it's price range, though

      Exit 22 for beginners

      By WACKAMOLE

      from Hadley Ma.

Comments about Godin Exit 22 Electric Guitar:

      - Ive been teaching myself how to play the guitar and since I started I have had some kind of fetish for blocks of wood with strings. This is an excellent guitar, with the 5 pickup tones and easy tune ability this is an excellent ax. I've only been playing for a year and I'm head over heals for such beautiful Canadian craftsman ship. the only thing I wish it had was a bigsby. The body is ugly but very light and comfortable. great s***. Tripp A.

      great guitar for the price

      By Anonymous

      from Undisclosed

Comments about Godin Exit 22 Electric Guitar:

I've had this guitar for about a year and a half, and I gotta say, it's great. This guitar is lightweight and it sounds great. There is however, a couple of minor problems. If you play live or with a drum, the pickups are a little weak and I find that the neck is a little too thin for me. But it's no big deal. One last tip, change the string retainers.

      Awesome Guitar with great sound

      By The-Cat-with-a-Strat

      from Near San Fransisco

Comments about Godin Exit 22 Electric Guitar:

This guitar is one of the best sounding guitars that I have ever played. It has better quality, and more versatility, than other guitars that I have played The neck is also very nice to play on. The only thing that I do not like about this guitar is the body, which is a style that does not work well with how I play. For the price this guitar is an amazing deal.
