Comments about Godin Icon Type 3 Electric Guitar:

This guitar has super clean tones from the passive
option for all 5 pup positions. My ears never like
active pups [battery powered] and this guitar is no exception, but the passive pups do what they
are advertised to do; boost the signal with the
use of a mini switch. So you have 10 different tones.
The P-90s are extremely sweet and clean sounding and very balanced. You get 5 different
sounds, yet no radical change b/w any of the pups where it feels "odd". Lollar uses this K ohm
for his standard 3 P-90 set, 8.2 neck, 8.73 middle
and 9.1 bridge and it was definitely well thought out for a balance palate of tones. Personally,
I would have preferred a bit more "nastiness" on
the bridge pup, maybe 9.6-9.7 K ohms, but again,
the guitar is extremely well balanced as is.
The workmanship was flawless. A beautiful
looking guitar. The neck is perfect, has the feel
of a Taylor with an ebony fretboard and perfect
frets, great intonation and set up with low
action and zero buzz right out of the box.
That ebony fretboard is a very nice upgrade to
the rosewood used on most Gibsons. Very slick
playing and stays so much cleaner than rosewood
that easily gathers dirt in it's grain
The gig bag is sturdy and well designed.
The folks at Godin are very generous in replying to questions.
If you play Jazz, Blues or Classic Rock this
guitar will serve you well. The P-90s and a Tube
      amp are heavenly. ENJOY...

Comments about Godin Icon Type 3 Electric Guitar:

Beautiful finish.Love the fat sound of the Lollar Pup's. Had another guitarist try it, and he liked everything but the Pup's,but wanted the guitar anyway. This is my 8th Godin over the last 12 yrs, and they just keep getting better. This will replace my Godin Triumph as my go-to guitar.I always received kudos for the tone the Triumph provided,(SSS configuration,Pup's all about the size of small Gibson humbuckers)I believe the Icon3 will surpass the Triumph in tone and versatility and will allow me to keep my 27yr old PRS at home.Keep rockin' y'all.

      Great guitar

      By Eric Petersen

Comments about Godin Icon Type 3 Electric Guitar:

Got this a few days ago and I'm really impressed with the quality of workmanship. Godin intonated it and set the string height at the factory and it came out of the box perfect; first guitar I've ever bought that I didn't have to mess with setting up. Parts, finish and construction all first rate. Not sure, but the neck seems like a 10" radius and fits the hand nicely. The tone rocks and there is this little magic button that when pushed ups the volume and sustain a bit, nice added feature. My main guitar is a PRS Studio and the Godin comes in very close in quality and overall satisfaction in my book - for considerably less money.
