OVERVIEW

Designed to meet the demands of modern performing and recording.

The Multiac Grand Concert Duet Ambiance nylon-string acoustic-electric guitar features state- of-the-art custom electronics by Fishman, allowing the player to blend the sound of the undersaddle transducer with 4 individual virtual microphone models.

You can choose among the 4 blendable sound imaging mics via a 4-way selector switch. Mic models include the Danish Pro Audio Small- Diaphragm Condenser Mic, Soundelux E47 Large- Diaphragm Condenser Mic, and the Schoeps CMC64G Small-Diaphragm Condenser Mic at both close-mic position and at a distance of 16".

Similarly to other Multiac Grand Concert models, the Godin guitar's design unites a large mahogany body with a solid cedar top and a neck that joins the body at the twelfth fret. The 2" width at the nut is slightly larger than the standard Multiac and more typical of the classical tradition. The result is an impressive guitar for classical players that require superb, custom amplified sound.

All of the Multiac Duet nylon-string guitars include a very flexible and sophisticated output section. The 1/4" (standard) output will work with a regular guitar cord.

Check the drop-down menu to the right to select colors and/or other options. Includes gig bag.

Comments about Godin Multiac Grand Concert Duet Ambiance Nylon String Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Very pleased with this guitar. Plays with little effort, compared with a standard classical. Guitar sounds great plugged in. With the Fishman options, it's easy to find a great tone with any amp.

Comments about Godin Multiac Grand Concert Duet Ambiance Nylon String Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

After having owned two other nylon-stringed Multiacs, this one is by far the best of the series. Sounds fantastic plugged in with nearly every amplifier I've tried and its unplugged tone is surprisingly good as well. Very happy with my purchase.

Comments about Godin Multiac Grand Concert Duet Ambiance Nylon String Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I have owned this guitar for about seven months now. Once I got used to it and the controls I became very happy with the instrument. It does take awhile to learn how to maximize the tone for a particular use, but once you spend time with it, just like anything else it becomes much easier to do so. I have run this instrument through p.a. systems, acoustic amps and even through my Fender Hot Rod Deluxe, and while I find that I can get great tone in all of these scenarios I must say that my favorite tone is through the Deluxe. The tubes on the clean channel warm the tone beautifully and this combination is the closest I've found to an actual concert classical guitar. It isn't feedback proof, despite the hype. If you're planning on playing really loud you'll want to look at one of the ACS models as they have closer to a solid chambered body. This one is a keeper!

Comments about Godin Multiac Grand Concert Duet Ambiance Nylon String Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I purchased mine from Musicians Friend last month and was impressed with the variety of sound options that are available from the Fishman electronics. The electronics provide noise-free signals, capable of being plugged into any guitar amplifier. No hum at all. Slight possibility of feedback if the lower eq (bass) is torqued all the way and guitar is near the monitor.
The amp cable jack is placed strategically so that the classical-style seated position can be achieved (neck held upwardly while resting guitar body between knees).
What sets it apart from the rest of the electro-acoustics is the wide classical guitar neck; that's why I bought it (for fingerstyle + classical seated position).
What I didn't like was the fact that the wire in the pickup under the saddle had shorted out, after I put Thomastik Classical Flatwound Nylon strings on it. The strings were probably too high of tension where they caused the wire at the pickup to malfunction.
After removal of the strings, and wiggling the wire connecting to the pickup, I placed the original strings on it and the pickup worked normal.
Prior to the malfunction (due to the string replacement), the guitar sounded incredible. I was able to attain classical nylon string guitar sounds through my Fender amp as though a mic was placed in front of it.
Additionally, it can sound like a hollow body archtop jazz guitar, when plugged into any capable jazz-guitar amp.
My Godin Multiac Grand Concert Duet Ambiance Nylon String Acoustic-Electric Guitar sounded very similar to a Sadowsky jazz guitar, especially when it is plugged into my Henriksen JazzAmp.
Choosing a lower tension strings would be logical since lower pressure is placed on the saddle pickup bar.
What is best is that fingernails wouldn't have to be grown out, compared to a conventional classical-style acoustic guitar.
