Switch between active and passive pickups with the push of a button.

The Godin Velocity electric guitar features a double-horned body, comprised of a silver leaf maple center with poplar wings and a gorgeous natural, solid, high-flamed maple top, unique to each guitar. The Velocity is the first Godin electric guitar to feature the Godin High-Definition Revoicer. The H.D.R. revoices and augments the frequency range of each pickup and allows you to go from passive to active pickups with the simple push of a button. The H.D.R. gives guitarists the best of both worlds. The Velocity's growl is powered by 2 Godin GS-1 single-coil pickups as well as the beefy tone and high output of the SH-5 Duncan Custom humbucker by Seymour Duncan for serious crunch and an aggressive bite.

Godin's Ergocut shaping gives the rock maple neck an extremely comfortable worn-in feel for effortless playability and lightning speed!

Other features include a vintage tremolo bridge, maple or rosewood fingerboard, 5-way switch, and a stunning high-gloss finish.

Most versatile guitar I've owned

By Edgar Marroquin

from Southern California

Comments about Godin Velocity Electric Guitar:

If you want a strat sound, get a strat or consider swapping the middle and neck pickups. Also, you won't be able to get that thick, creamy les paul sound out of these single coils, but a sound that's close enough to justify the savings. I'd like to end with my favorite part of this guitar: The Neck. This neck has no finish, it feels like a finely sanded piece of wood. You can slide your hand on it day and night and it will never stick. I can play faster with this neck than with any other I've tried. In fairness, I've only really played Gibson, Fender, and Parker guitars, so I couldn't compare them with any other. I am now checking out other Godin guitars, particularly the Icon 2 and Summit CT instead of a Les Paul. That's how much this one impressed me.
This is a S-S-H guitar with a whammy bar, 5-way pickup selector, and the HDR button that turns the passive pickups into active pickups, giving them a little snappier sound, think treble boost on a Peavey amp. This gives you a selection of 10 overall tones. I will say this though, the single coils don't sound like typical strat coils. These have a little bit more bite to them.
Have not had any issues with any of the components. Even thought I've only owned it for a few months, it doesn't seem like it'll give me problems any time soon. Solidly put together, the tuners feel good, and the knobs feel snug. I have the Natural Burst Flame finish and it looks better than any pictures can show.

The Velocity is Godins Greatest Accomplishment

By ZosotheGreat

Comments about Godin Velocity Electric Guitar:

Godin really out did themselves on this model. It has an unfinished neck so everytime you play it, it keeps getting better and better. This guitar absolutely shreds. You can play so fast and their isn't a trace of the muddy sound. And that's just having the guitar set on passive. This guitar has an amazing range of sounds. It mimicks every famous guitar sound perfectly. Les Paul Strat Tele Jazz. It's a total steal for the price.

Comments about Godin Velocity Electric Guitar:

This guitar will blow you away. I'll start from the top and work down. The tuning pegs are able to get it perfectly in tune easily and are not obnoxious looking. The neck is very fast and feels like it is part of your hand. The body is surprisingly light; about two pounds. it vibrates and resonates forever. The single-coil pickups get a little feedback but not very much. They make up for it by sounding sweet. There are three of them so you have options on which to use. The bridge allows for incredible sustain; also there is space for a whammy bar. Overall great guitar.

Smells Nice ... Plays Nice!

Comments about Godin Velocity Electric Guitar:

This is a SOLID guitar. The neck is thin, but not too thin, and smooth (but not too smooth). It is very well built. I also own an Ibanez RG 320 FM and this is more versatile, and just FEELS better, and holds is tuning well. You can play for hours and bend like mad without the velocity going out of tune.
